KAITAIA BOROUGH DISTRICT PLANNING SCHEME

Town and Country Planning Act 1953

PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, public notice is hereby given that the District Scheme under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 for Kaitaia Borough was approved by the Council by resolution passed at its meeting held on the 27th day of March 1957 after all objections, appeals, and arbitrations relating to the scheme had been amended to give effect to all objections and appeals allowed and all variations of the scheme required by the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board had been incorporated.

The Council has also resolved that the scheme shall come into operation on the 24th day of April 1957.

Copies of the scheme as approved have been deposited in the Council's office and in every public library in the district and may be inspected without fee by any person who so requires at any time when these places are open to the public.

WAIKOUAITI TROTTING CLUB RESOLUTION

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Waikouaiti Trotting Club at a meeting held on Thursday, 7 February 1957, in the Public Hall, Waikouaiti, with a recommendation by one of the committee of such club, Mr Gordon James Morrison, of Dunedin, manager, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act 1908, section 33.

Mr Gordon James Morrison, one of the committee of such club, moved, and Mr Allen Lee, of Waikouaiti, farmer, seconded, and it was resolved that such regulations should be adopted and that the chairman and secretary be authorised to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:

Waikouaiti Trotting Club Regulations

(Under the Gaming Act 1908)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act 1908 and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Waikouaiti Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said club"), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admissions of persons to that part of the Waikouaiti Racing Club's course, situated in the District of Hawksbury and known as the Waikouaiti Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words "bookmaker", "trotting club", and "race meeting" shall have the meaning ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act 1908.

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the Waikouaiti Racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the Waikouaiti Trotting Club for a race meeting namely:

(a) Bookmakers.

(b) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and bookmakers' agents.

(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference or the New Zealand Trotting Conference.

(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking or pocket picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretenses, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act 1927, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act 1908.

Provided always that the committee appointed by the New Zealand Trotting Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who by reason of any conviction comes within the scope of this regulation should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Waikouaiti Trotting Club were made and passed by such club on the 7th day of February 1957 and signed by the chairman and secretary.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the day preceding publication.

Subscriptions.--The subscription is at the rate of £5 5s. per calendar year, including postage, Payable in Advance.

Single copies of the Gazette as follows:

For the first 16 pages, 6d., increasing by 6d. for every subsequent 8 pages or part thereof.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for the first insertion, and 6d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS

Under the Regulations Act 1936 statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing), subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, £1 10s. (Volumes for years 1936-37 and 1939-42 are out of print.)

(3) Separate regulations as issued.

The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facilitating the purchase of extra copies.

Orders should be placed with the Government Printer, Publications Branch, Wellington C. 1. Separate copies of regulations may also be purchased from the Printing and Stationery Department, 130 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, or from the Chief Post Offices at Auckland and Dunedin.
