NEW PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers it thereunto enabling the New Plymouth City Council hereby resolves:

“That, for the purpose of providing the redemption payments payable in respect of a loan of £16,500 authorised to be raised by the Council by an Order in Council made on 16 January 1957 and published in the Gazette, No. 6, of 24 January 1957, at page 108, and interest and other charges thereon (which said loan of £16,500 is the second issue of the Sewerage Extension Loan 1953, authorised to be raised by the Council under the above-mentioned Act by a poll of ratepayers the result of such poll being published in the Gazette, No. 1, of 7 January 1954, at page 54), the said loan of £16,500 being for the purpose of extending and adding to the Council’s existing drainage system, including the provision of pumping stations, tanks, outfalls, and other things necessary for the efficient drainage of the City, the Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny (1/16d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of New Plymouth (excluding however the area included in the City by Order in Council made on 8 August 1953, and published in the Gazette, No. 52, of 11 August, 1955, at page 1258); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the New Plymouth City Council held on 19 March 1957.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

In accordance with the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Whangarei Borough Council under the Local Bodies Loans Act 1926 for the purpose of purchasing land, the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0.0995d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Whangarei; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is paid off, and the said Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge the said special rate as security for the said loan.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Aerodrome Development Loan No. 2 1955 of £100,000

The following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Wednesday, 20 March 1957:

“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, repayment of principal and other charges on a loan of one hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) to be known as the Wellington City Aerodrome Development Loan No. 2 1955 of £100,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out works associated with the Rongotai Aerodrome development scheme including the construction of a subway for pedestrian and cycle traffic, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-three eight-hundredths of a penny (43/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD AND TO STOP ROAD

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the First Schedule hereto for road and to stop the pieces of road described in the Fourth Schedule hereto; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken and of the pieces of road to be stopped is deposited in the office of the Otorohanga County Council at Ballance Street, Otorohanga, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land or by the stopping of the said pieces of road should, if they have any well grounded objections to the said taking or stopping, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the office of the County Council at Otorohanga.
