licensee), a licence subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from the Mangles River (hereinafter referred to as the said stream) situated in Lot 2 of Section 9, Block IV, Tutaki Survey District, in the County of Murchison, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 5.5 cubic feet per second at any one time and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.

CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS

  1. Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Lot 2 of Section 9, Block IV, Tutaki Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 92272 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

  1. The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 92272.

    (a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a water race and pipeline leading to the powerhouse hereinafter described, giving a static head of approximately 40 ft.

    (b) Powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Lot 2 of Section 9 aforesaid.

    (c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the said stream.

    (d) Electric lines leading from the said powerhouse across the said stream to the homestead, all being situated in Lot 2 of Section 9, Block IV, Tutaki Survey District, the said lines and buildings being more particularly shown on the said plan P.W.D. 92272.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1978.

RENTAL

  1. For the purpose of assessing the rental on annual sum payable in respect of this licence, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the commencement of this licence is 10 kilowatts.

NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED

  1. Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the licensee any right to water.

Authorising the Auckland Transport Board to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines in the City of Auckland (Queen Street Shuttle and Railway Services)

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 20th day of March 1957

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Auckland Transport Board (hereinafter with its successors and assigns referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.

CONDITIONS

PURPOSE OF LINES

  1. The electric lines hereby authorised shall be used only for the purpose of supplying electricity to the licensee's trackless trolley omnibuses.

In respect of the electric lines hereby authorised the licensee shall comply with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be classified under paragraph (j) of regulation 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall be a two-wire direct-current system at a normal rated pressure of 550 volts, for supply to the licensee’s trackless-trolley-omnibus system.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1972.

ALTERATIONS TO AUCKLAND ELECTRIC POWER BOARD’S ELECTRIC LINES OR WORKS

  1. Where the construction, existence, or use of the electric lines hereby authorised necessitates any alteration to the Auckland Electric Power Board’s existing electric lines or works and/or the erection of any new or additional electric lines or works on the opposite side of any street to that on which the Board’s existing electric lines or works are situated, the cost of any such alteration and/or additional cost involved in erecting any such new or additional electric lines or works shall be borne by the licensee.

SCHEDULE

LINES for the transmission of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described along certain routes in the City of Auckland described as follows:

  1. Queen Street Shuttle Service:

    (a) Lines for one-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Customs Street with Queen Street and proceeding northerly along Queen Street to its junction with Tyler Street; thence easterly along Tyler Street to its junction with Commerce Street; thence southerly along Commerce Street to its junction with Customs Street East.

    (b) Lines for one-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Fort Street with Queen Street and proceeding easterly along Fort Street to its junction with Commerce Street; thence northerly along Commerce Street to its junction with Customs Street East.

    (c) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Customs Street with Queen Street and proceeding southerly along Queen Street to its junction with Wyndham Street.

    (d) Lines for one-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Wyndham Street with Queen Street and proceeding southerly along Queen Street to its junction with Wellesley Street East.

    (e) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Wakefield Street with Queen Street and proceeding southerly along Queen Street to its junction with Karangahape Road; thence westerly along Karangahape Road to its junction with Pitt Street.

    (f) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Greys Avenue with Queen Street and proceeding south-westerly along Greys Avenue to its junction with Pitt Street.

  2. Railway Service:

    (a) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Anzac Avenue with Beach Road and proceeding south-easterly along Beach Road to its junction with the road giving access to the main entrance of Auckland Railway Station.

    (b) Lines for one-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Beach Road with the road giving access to the main entrance of Auckland Railway Station and proceeding easterly, southerly, and westerly along the last mentioned road to Beach Road; thence north-westerly along Beach Road to the said intersection.

The aforesaid lines being more particularly delineated by means of red lines on the plan marked S.H.D. 423 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
