PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council made on the 20th day of February 1957 and published in the Gazette on the 28th day of the same month, at page 316, abolishing the Borough of Akaroa and altering the boundaries of the County of Akaroa by deleting the words "Akaroa Riding", and substituting therefor the words "Wainui Riding".

PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948, shall as from the date hereof be added to and form part of the Tongariro National Park, and shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with by the Tongariro National Park Board in accordance with the provisions of the first-mentioned Act.

PURSUANT to the Tramways Act 1908 and the Tramways Amendment Act 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby approves the term of the licence granted for a period of twenty-one years from the 1st day of October 1955 by the Patea County Council to the Patea Freezing Co. Ltd., a duly registered company having its registered office at Patea, authorising the said company to maintain a private tramway along and across Portland Quay in the County of Patea, the position of such tramway being more particularly shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 152981 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Gerald George Murray, of "Glenmore", Lake Tekapo, farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from the Cass River situated in Run 79, Block I, Tekapo Survey District, in the County of Mackenzie, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 4 cubic feet per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
- Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Run 79, Block I, Tekapo Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 92066 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
- The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 92066.
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with water race and pipelines leading to the water wheel and powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 23 ft.
(b) Water wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity situated in Run 79, Block I, Tekapo Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said water wheel to Scotts Creek.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
