THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Masterton
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) authorised
to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the erection of pensioners' cottages,
the said Masterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of $\frac{1}{16}$d. in the pound upon the rateable value of
all rateable property of the Borough of Masterton; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day
of April in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.”

WAITEMATA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Extension and Reinforcement Loan 1956 (No. 2),
£150,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the Local
Bodies' Loans Act 1926, and amendments and regulations
made thereunder and all other powers enabling, the Board
hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing yearly instalments of
principal and half-yearly instalments of interest and other
charges on a loan of £150,000 authorised to be raised by the
Waitemata Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned
Acts in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of
the further reticulation of electric power within the whole of
the Waitemata Electric Power District, the Waitemata Electric
Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of
7/100ths of a 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value (being
the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of
the Waitemata Electric Power District, as defined in the
Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the
Gazette dated the 18th day of October 1923 and amended
by Proclamations appearing in the Gazette dated the 27th day
of November 1924, the 26th day of August 1926, the 7th day
of March 1929, the 24th day of January 1935, and the 14th
day of April 1954; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twelve years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was carried at a
meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board held on the
25th day of February 1957.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954, and the Cemeteries Act 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens
of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter called the said
Corporation) propose under the provisions of the abovementioned
Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely,
to provide a cemetery, and for the purposes of such public
work the land described in the Schedule hereto requires
to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of
the land so required to be taken is deposited in the municipal
chambers of the said Corporation, situated in the Octagon in
the said City of Dunedin, and is open for inspection without
fee by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all
persons affected by the execution of the said public work or
by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well
grounded objection to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing
and send such writing within forty days from the first publication
of this notice to the Town Clerk of the said Corporation.

SCHEDULE

(a) The following pieces of land situated in Block VIII,
Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, shown and coloured
yellow on S.O. Plan 12328: Part Section 41 containing 6 acres
1 rood 5·2 poles, Section 42 containing 72 acres 2 roods 16·5
poles, Section 45 containing 27 acres 2 roods 35·3 poles, part
Section 46, Block VIII, containing 71 acres 3 roods 25·7 poles,
and part Section 46 containing 0·1 poles.

(b) Part Deposited Plan 3497, being part Section 44, Block
VIII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, shown and
coloured sepia on S.O. Plan 12328, containing 53 acres 1 rood
7·8 poles.

BOROUGH OF MANUREWA

SPECIAL ORDER

“THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and of all
other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Manurewa
Borough Council hereby resolves by special resolution
intended to operate as a special order that for the purpose of
providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan
of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000) (hereinafter referred to
as the said loan) being the first portion of the loan of two
hundred and eight thousand pounds (£208,000) known as the
Manurewa Sewerage Scheme 1954, £208,000, the said loan
being authorised to be raised by the Manurewa Borough
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
installing a sewerage-scheme system, the said Manurewa
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
three farthings ($\frac{3}{4}$d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of
all rateable property of the Borough of Manurewa comprising
the whole of the Borough of Manurewa; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of
such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July
and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25)
years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

Dated at Manurewa this 27th day of February 1957.

The common seal of the body corporate called the Mayor,
Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Manurewa was
hereunto affixed in pursuance of a resolution passed at a
meeting of the Manurewa Borough Council held on the 27th
day of February 1957 in the presence of—

I certify that the foregoing special resolution intended to
operate as a special order was passed at a special meeting of
the Manurewa Borough Council convened for that purpose
and held on the 27th day of January 1957, and was confirmed
at a special meeting of the said council held on the 27th day
of February 1957, having meantime been advertised in the
Auckland Star on the 31st day of January 1957 and on the
23rd day of February 1957.
