Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 2) 1957

PURSUANT to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 2) 1957.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 8th day of March 1957.
  2. Goods of the classes specified in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country other than the countries specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Ex 204 Collar boxes, key cases, wallets, and writing cases made wholly or partly of leather or of plastic sheeting: purses (excluding purses made wholly or principally of textile or straw plait, even if beaded, sequined, or otherwise decorated); frames of metal tubing shaped to fit the body for supporting a rucksack but not forming an integral part of the rucksack; bags, pouches, and purses of metal foil, metal sheet, or of chain mesh.

Revokes exemption in Gazette, No. 34, of 26 April 1951, covering leather manufactures, n.e.i., under Tariff item 203.

BOLIVIA, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Japan, Korea, Liberia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines; United States of America, Venezuela.

Approval of Brake Testing Instruments

PURSUANT to subclause (5) of regulation 42 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves, for the purposes of the said regulation, the brake testing instruments of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

TAPLEY brake testing meter, manufactured by Tapley Brothers Ltd., England.

Bear brake testers, models Nos. 450, 451, 452, 4510, and 4511, manufactured by Bear Manufacturing Co. of Chicago, U.S.A.

Weaver brake testers, model Nos. WY-25, WY-30, WY-40S, WY-55, WY-60, WY-70S, WY-75, and WY-76, manufactured by either Weaver Manufacturing and Engineering Co. Ltd., England, or Weaver Manufacturing Co., U.S.A.
