State Forest Land Set Apart as a Forest Sanctuary

A PROCLAMATION
P URSUANT to section 20 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the State forest land described in the Schedule hereto as a forest sanctuary.
SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY
All that area in Inglewood County, containing 3 acres and 31 perches, more or less, and being part of Section 1, Block XVI, Waitara Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 60/4 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 8681.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 6th day of February 1956.

Land at Napier Taken for Railway Purposes

A PROCLAMATION
P URSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928 and the Government Railways Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for Railway purposes.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 acre 35-9 perches.
Being Lots 27, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36, D.P. 9149, being part Ahuriri Lagoon, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, H.B. Volume 153, folio 133, Hawke's Bay Registry.
Situated in Block IV, Heretaunga Survey District, City of Napier.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 11th day of February 1956.

P URSUANT to section 254 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby varies an Order in Council made on 11 April 1932 and published in the Gazette, 14 April 1932, Vol. I, page 761, prohibiting all alienations of the Maori land known as Kaimanawa 1E 2B and other blocks, other than alienations in favour of the Crown, by excluding therefrom the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Validating Irregularity in Connection with Annual Meeting of Horowhenua County Council

WHEREAS by section 77 of the Counties Act 1920 it is provided that the annual meeting of the various county councils throughout New Zealand shall be held on a day to be fixed by the Council, being not later than thirty days after the day on which a triennial election of members is held, or, in any year in which no such election is held, within thirty days after the anniversary of the last triennial election of county councils:
And whereas the annual meeting of the Horowhenua County Council was omitted to be held within the period provided by that section but was held on the 14th day of December 1955, and it is expedient to validate the proceedings in connection therewith:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 216 of the Counties Act 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the proceedings in connection with the meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on the 14th day of December 1955 shall be valid to all intents and purposes as if that meeting had been held within the period provided by section 77 of that Act; and further declares that the said proceedings shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Constituting Kohukohu Secondary Urban Fire District

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Kohukohu Town Council requested that the Town District of Kohukohu be constituted a secondary urban fire district:
And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the Fire Service Council has certified that the appropriate standards for a secondary urban fire district have been complied with in respect of the said town district:
And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the request has been referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has recommended that action be taken under the Fire Services Act 1949 to constitute the said town district a secondary urban fire district:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the Town District of Kohukohu to be a secondary urban fire district by the name of the Kohukohu Secondary Urban Fire District.
