Licensing the West Timber Company Limited to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore at Helensville as a Site for Piles
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the West Timber Company Limited (hereinafter called the company, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Helensville, Kaipara Harbour, as shown on plan marked M.D. 7456 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon piles as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
- This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto. 2. The premium payable by the company shall be five pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable three pounds (£3). 3. The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from 1 December 1956.

NOTICE
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Bay of Islands Harbour District taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal of the Bay of Islands Harbour Board to borrow the sum of forty thousand pounds (£40,000) for the purpose of completing the works specified in the Schedule of the Bay of Islands Harbour Board Empowering Act 1952 as empowered by the Bay of Islands Harbour Board Empowering Act 1956, i.e.: (1) Construction of wharf and miscellaneous harbour works at and in the vicinity of Opua. (2) Dredging: (a) Veronica Channel to 24 ft. L.W.S.T.; (b) at wharf.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,192. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 554. Informal, 39.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Licensing the Vincent County Council to Use and Occupy Parts of the Foreshore in Lake Hawea as Sites for Wharves
Pursuant to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the Vincent County Council (hereinafter called the Council, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy parts of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Hunter Valley and Meade's in Lake Hawea as sites for wharves, as shown on plans marked M.D. 8158 and 8160; 8159 and 8160, respectively, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the Council upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
- This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto. 2. The term of the licence shall be one year from the date hereof. 3. The annual sum payable by the Council shall be 1s. payable on demand. 4. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the said wharves shall have all such ballast taken away and deposited above high-water mark, or at such place as may be approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.

Pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Heathcote County Council on the 26th day of October 1956.
SPECIAL ORDER
Pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following plants be declared to be noxious weeds within the County:
Barberry (Berberis vulgaris). Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum). Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis). Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus). Boxtorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum). Burdock (Arctium, any species). Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense). Common broom (Cytisus scoparius). Cut-leaved psoralea (Psoralea pinnata). Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare). Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea). Goat's rue (Galega officinalis). Gorse (Ulex, any species). Hakea (Hakea saligna, Hakea suaveolens, Hakea pubescens, and Hakea acicularis). Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna). Heath (Erica lusitanica and Erica arborea). Hemlock (Conium maculatum). Japanese wineberry (Rubus phoenicolasmus). Kangaroo acacia (Acacia armata). Lantana (Lantana camara). Lupin (Lupinus arboreus). Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum). Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma). Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans). Prickly pear (Opuntia monacantha). Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea). St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum). Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus). Scotch thistle or plume thistle (Cirsium lanceolatum). Silver poplar (Populus alba var. nivea). Spiderwort (Leycesteria formosa). Star thistle (Centaurea calcitrapa). Sweetbriar (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa). Tauhinu or New Zealand cotton-wood (Cassinia leptophylla or Cassinia fulvida). Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum). Viper's bugloss (Echium vulgare). Wild turnip (Brassica campestris).
