THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1955, Amendment No. 6

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Minister of
Industries and Commerce hereby gives the following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices
    (Positive List) Notice 1955, Amendment No. 6, and shall be
    read together with and deemed part of the Control of Prices
    (Positive List) Notice 1955* (hereinafter referred to as the
    principal notice).

  2. This notice shall come into force on the 20th day of
    December 1956.

  3. The principal notice shall cease to apply in respect of
    the goods and services set out in the Schedule hereto.

  4. The principal notice is hereby consequentially amended
    by omitting from the Schedule thereto all references to the
    goods and services referred to in the Schedule hereto in respect
    of which, pursuant to clause 3 hereof, the principal notice no
    longer applies.

SCHEDULE

ITEMS NOW EXEMPTED FROM PRICE FIXATION

CHEMICALS AND CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES

Druggists' sundries
Bandages.
Cellulose wadding.
Cotton wool.
Diabetic outfits.
Dressings.
Gamgee and gauze tissue.
Gauze, medicated and plain.
Laboratory glassware.
Lint, medicated and plain.
Plasters—adhesive, medicated, and liquid, and including corn
and bunion plasters or pads.
Splint forceps (tweezers).
Test glasses, including percentage tubes.
Test tubes and stands.
Wadding.

Petroleum products
All petroleum products except lubricating oils and greases,
petrol, aviation spirit, kerosene, white spirit, diesel and
fuel oil.

CLOTHING, MANCHESTER, AND FOOTWEAR

Apparel
Men's and boys' outer wear of all kinds, excluding school
uniforms.
Dresses, frocks, and gowns—maids' and infants', of wool or
containing wool, except school uniforms.
Women's—
Professional uniforms.
Utility and nurses smocks in white and plain colours.
Knitwear—
Boleros.
Cardigans.
Overcoats and raincoats, infants'.
Smocks, nurses', in white or plain colours.
Smocks, women's and maids' utility, in plain colours.
Uniforms of all types, other than school uniforms.

Manchester and fabrics
Blankets of wool or containing wool.
Diaper squares.
Piece goods including cut lengths and fabrics as follows:
(a) Woven or knitted, woollen or containing wool.
(b) Woven piece goods of cotton or artificial fibres as
follows—diaper cloth.

Footwear
Footwear of the following kinds—
Men's—
Boots with uppers wholly of leather.
All footwear with uppers wholly of patent leather.
All footwear with uppers wholly of gaberdine.
All footwear with uppers wholly of suede leather.
Women's—
All footwear with uppers wholly of suede leather.

FURNITURE, FURNISHINGS, AND BEDDING
Mattresses and mattress bases, innerspring or rubber.
Pillows, innerspring or rubber.

GROCERIES, FOODSTUFFS, AND RELATED
COMMODITIES
Groceries
Bread—other than bread (sliced or unsliced) customarily
known as standard white bread, standard brown bread,
wholemeal bread, vienna bread, wheatgerm bread.
Beverages, food, including Bournvita, Milo, Ovaltine, and
similar preparations.
Cocoa, cocoa powder, and cocoa beans.
Cornflour.
Cream, canned.
Gelatine.
Glucose.
Glycerine in all forms.
Lemons.
Peas, dried, whole, or split.
Stock food of all kinds except prepared poultry food, wheat,
barley, bran, pollard.

Fittings, window and fanlight.
Pipe fittings of brass.

Cutlery—
Cutlery of all kinds.

Hand and edge tools—
All powered tools.
Forks.
Grubbers.
Picks.

Miscellaneous hardware
Catches, cupboard, cabinet, door, fanlight, and window.
Dustbins, metal.
Handles, door.

Charges, fees, or rates payable in respect of—
Cool storage.
Tariffs of the following licensed and unlicensed hotels,
private hotels, and boarding houses—

Grand Hotel, Rotorua.
Duke of Marlborough Hotel, Russell.
The Lodge Hotel, Hanmer.
Hamilton Hotel, Hamilton.
Putaruru Hotel, Putaruru.
Chateau Tongariro, National Park.
