Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway
Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the
National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of
the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:
- The public highways described in the Schedule hereto are
hereby declared to be main highways within the meaning and
for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953. - This notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2B
HETHERINGTON: All that public highway in the County of
Raglan commencing at its junction with the Pukekohe - Te Uku
via Tuakau Main Highway at Section 52B, Block XII, Awaroa
Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly
direction by way of the public highways known as Hetherington and Rotowaro roads and terminating at its junction with
the Huntly-Rotowaro via Waikokowai Main Highway at
Section 16, Block X, Rangiriri Survey District, being a distance
of 8 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150921 deposited in the
office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon
coloured carmine.
Rangiriri - Glen Murray: All that public highway in the
Counties of Waikato and Raglan commencing at its junction
with the Auckland-Hamilton State Highway opposite the
northern corner of Lot 108, Township of Rangiriri, Block III,
Rangiriri Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in
a westerly direction by way of the public highways known as
Morphy Street and Rangiriri - Glen Murray road, and terminating at its junction with the Pukekohe - Te Uku via
Tuakau Main Highway at Section 27, Block IV, Awaroa Survey District, being a distance of 10 miles 63 chains, more or
less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan
P.W.D. 150920 deposited in the office of the National Roads
Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.

Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring Public
Highway to be Main Highway
Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the
National Roads Board, acting with the written approval
of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:
-
(1) The public highway described in the First Schedule
hereto shall cease to be main highway.
(2) The Orders in Council dated 2 April 1928, and 11
January 1955†, declaring (inter alia) the highway firstly
described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway are hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much
of the Second Schedules thereto as relate to the said highway.
(3) The Order in Council dated 2 April 1928, declaring
(inter alia) that portion of public highway secondly described
in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby
consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second
Schedule hereto as relates to the said highway.
(4) The Order in Council dated 2 July 1928‡, declaring
(inter alia) the public highway thirdly described in the First
Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially
amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto
as relates to the said highway. -
The public highway described in the Second Schedule
hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the
meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953. -
This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICTS NOS. 2A AND 2B
All that public highway declared as the Rukekohe-Glenmurray
via Tuakau Main Highway as described in Orders in Council
dated 2 April 1928* and 11 January 1955†.
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2B
All that portion of public highway in the County of Raglan
commencing at the north-west corner of Section 119A, Block
XI, Whaingaroa Survey District, and terminating at the northwest corner of Section 127, Block VIII, Whaingaroa Survey
District, being a distance of 3 miles 65 chains, more or less,
declared as portion of the Ngaruawahia-Waingaro Main
Highway as described in Order in Council dated 2 April 1928.*
All that public highway in the County of Raglan declared as
the Tuakau-Onewhero Main Highway as described in Order
in Council dated 2 July 1928§.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2A
PUKEKOHE - TE UKU VIA TUAKAU: All that public highway in the
Borough of Pukekohe commencing at the junction of Manukau
Road and East Street and proceeding thence generally in a
southerly direction by way of Manukau Road and terminating
at the southern boundary of the said borough, being a distance
of 1 mile 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150918 deposited in the office
of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.
Also all that public highway in the Borough of Tuakau
commencing at the western boundary of the said borough and
proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction by way
of George Street and terminating at the southern boundary
of the said Borough, being a distance of 1 mile 4 chains,
more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on
plan P.W.D. 150918 deposited in the office of the National
Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Also all that public highway in the County of Franklin
commencing at the southern boundary of the Borough of
Pukekohe and proceeding thence generally in a southerly
direction by way of those public highways known as Buckland
Road and George Street (but excluding those portions within
the borough of Tuakau) to its termination at the southern bank of the Waikato River, being a distance of 6 miles 40
chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated
on plan P.W.D. 150918 deposited in the office of the National
Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2B
PUKEKOHE - TE UKU VIA TUAKAU: All that public highway
in the County of Raglan commencing at the southern bank of
the Waikato River at Section 181, Block VIII, Onewhero Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly
direction by way of those public highways known as Tuakau
Bridge - Glen Murray road, Waingaro - Glen Murray road, and
the Waingaro - Te Uku road, and terminating at its junction
with the Hamilton-Raglan Main Highway at the south-west
corner of Section 130A, Block III, Karioi Survey District, being
a distance of 51 miles 54 chains, more or less; as the same is
more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150918 deposited
in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and
thereon coloured green.

HUNTLY-WAINGARO: All that public highway in the County
of Raglan commencing at the boundary of the Borough of
Huntly, opposite the northern corner of Section 47, Block
XV, Rangiriri Survey District, and proceeding thence generally
in a south-westerly direction, by way of the public highways
known as Huntly-Rotowaro road and Rotowaro-Waingaro
road and terminating at its junction with the NgaruawahiaWaingaro Main Highway opposite the south-west corner of
Section 9, Block I, Newcastle Survey District, being a distance
of 11 miles 32 chains, more or less; as the same is more
particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150918 deposited in the
office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.
