Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

At the Government House at Wellington this 5th day of
December 1956
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart
the Maori freehold described in the Schedule hereto for the
common use and benefit of members of the Ngati Hau and
Ngati Kaharau sub-tribes as a Maori reservation for the
purposes of a meeting place.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area of land situated in Block II, Waoku Survey
District, containing 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, and being
all of the land known as Omanaia A 2; as is more particularly
delineated on the plan numbered M.A. 21/3/309 lodged in the
Head Office of the Department of Maori Affairs, Wellington,
and thereon edged red.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His

the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto for
the common use and benefit of the Maori people residing in the
Waima District as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a
meeting place, recreation ground, and sports ground.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area of land situated in Block VI, Waoku Survey
District, containing 4 acres 3 roods 38 perches, and being all
of the land known as Waima F 5; as is more particularly
delineated on the plan numbered 21/3/312 lodged in the Head
Office of the Department of Maori Affairs, Wellington, and
thereon edged red.

Lands in Nelson Land District Declared to be a National
Park

At the Government House at Wellington this 12th day of
December 1956
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares
that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be a
national park, under and subject to the provisions of the said
Act, and shall be known as the Nelson Lakes National Park.

SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT
ALL those areas described in Parts I, II, III, IV, V, and VI
hereto containing 139,832 acres 2 roods 37 perches, more or
less, excluding therefrom all public roads, but including therein
the beds and waters of all internal lakes, rivers, and streams.

Part I--Crown Land Subject to the Land Act 1948
All those areas being, firstly, situated in Block I, Rotoiti
Survey District, Blocks III, IV, VII, and VIII, Arnaud Survey
District, Blocks XII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Rotoroa Survey
District. Blocks I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI,
XII, XIII, and XIV, Sabine Survey District, and Block II,
Spenser Survey District: Area, 42,800 acres, more or less.
And, secondly, Lake Rotoiti, situated in Block XIII, Motu-
piko Survey District, and Blocks I and V, Rotoiti Survey
District: Area, 2,430 acres, more or less.
And, thirdly, Sections 79, 80, and 81, Town of St. Arnaud:
Area, 1 acre 2 roods 17 5 perches, more or less.

And, fourthly, Section 82 (Lagoon), Town of St. Arnaud:
Area, 1 rood 24 perches, more or less.

in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at

Part II—Scenic Reserves Subject to the Reserves and Domains
Act 1953
All those areas being, firstly, situated in Blocks II, III, VI,
VII, X, XI, XIV, and XV, Rotoroa Survey District: Area,
23,042 acres, more or less.
And, secondly, Section 1, Block II, Rotoroa Survey District:
Area, 77 acres, more or less.
And, thirdly, Section 11, situated in Blocks VII, VIII, XI,
XII, XV, XVI, and XVII, Sections 2 to 8 (inclusive), Block
VIII, and Sections 1 to 10 (inclusive), Block XII, Arnaud Sur-
vey District, and Section 13, situated in Blocks I, II, V, IX,
and XIII, Rotoiti Survey District: Area, 32,000 acres, more or
less.
And, fourthly, all that area situated in Blocks IV and VIII,
Arnaud Survey District: Area, 1,250 acres, more or less.
And, fifthly, Reserve 11 (in red), situated in Block XIII,
Motupiko Survey District, Block XVI, Howard Survey Dis-
trict, Blocks IV and VIII, Arnaud Survey District, and Blocks
I and V, Rotoiti Survey District: Area, 1,765 acres, more or
less.
And, sixthly, Reserve 12 (in red) situated in Block XIII,
Motupiko Survey District, and Blocks I and V, Rotoiti Survey
District: Area, 1,700 acres, more or less.
And, seventhly, part Sections 1, 2, and 3, Block V, Rotoiti
Survey District: Area, 40 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or
less. All certificate of title, Volume 75, folio 13.
And, eighthly, Section 3, Block XIII, and Section 18, Block
XIV, Motupiko Survey District: Area, 2,490 acres, more or
less.
And ninthly, Sections 65, 70 to 73 (inclusive), Town of
St. Arnaud: Area, 36 acres 2 roods 20 8 perches, more or less.
And, tenthly, Section 2 and part Section 1, Block XIII,
Motupiko Survey District: Area, 44 acres and 39 perches,
more or less. Part Section 1, all certificate of title, Volume 75,
folio 12.

As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 4/1081A deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at

Part III—Public Domains Subject to the Reserves and
Domains Act 1953
All those areas being, firstly, Sections 17, 39 to 51 (inclu-
sive), 58A, 74, and 143, Town of St. Arnaud Extension No. 2:
Area, 15 acres 1 rood 17 7 perches, more or less. Section 47,
all certificate of title, Volume 70, folio 209. Sections 49 and
50, all certificate of title, Volume 73, folio 15.
And, secondly, Sections 6, 34, and 36, and part Sections 69,
75, 76A, 77, and 78, Town of St. Arnaud: Area, 18 acres 1
rood 38 3 perches, more or less. Sections 34 and 36, all certifi-
cate of title, Volume 98, folio 99.
And, thirdly, part Section 22, Square 46, situated in Block
XIII, Motupiko Survey District: Area, 2 acres and 9 perches,
more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 73, folio 213.
And, fourthly, Section 2, Block II, Rotoroa Survey Dis-
trict: Area, 31 acres, more or less.
And, fifthly, Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 3320, being Sections 6, 13,
and 15, Block XIII, Motupiko Survey District, and part Sec-
tions 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 102, Square 46, situated in Block
XIII, Motupiko Survey District, and Block XVI, Howard
Survey District: Area, 466 acres 2 roods 17 7 perches, more

Part V—Public Utility Reserve Subject to the Reserves and

32 perches, more or less.

Part VI—State Forest Land Subject to the Forests Act 1949
All those areas being, firstly, permanent State forest situated
in Blocks XI, XII, XV, and XVI, Rotoroa Survey District, and
Blocks III, IV, VII, VIII, X, XI, and XII, Sabine Survey
District: Area, 14,940 acres, more or less.
And, secondly, permanent State forest, situated in Blocks
XIV and XV, Rotoroa Survey District, and Blocks II, III,
VI, X, and XIV, Sabine Survey District: Area, 16,680 acres,
more or less.

As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 4/1081A deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
