In the matter of the Companies Act 1933 and in the matter of the Napier Chair Company Limited (in liquidation). NOTICE is hereby given that, at a meeting of members of the above-named company held on 3 December 1956, the following resolution was passed:

“It is hereby resolved as a special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily and that Thomas Le Marchant Hutcheson, of Hamilton, public accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”

NOTICE OF REDUCTION OF CAPITAL

NOTICE is hereby given that an order was made by the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington on the 19th day of November 1956 confirming the reduction of the capital of the above company from £25,000 to £12,500 and approving the following minute to be registered at the office of the Registrar of Companies at Wellington:

“The capital of The Victoria Laundry Company Limited henceforth is £12,500, divided into 50,000 units of ordinary stock of 5s. each, instead of the original capital of £25,000, divided into 50,000 shares of 10s. each.”

THE PHARMACY BOARD ELECTIONS 1956

NOTICE is hereby given that a general election, in terms of the Pharmacy Board Election Regulations 1940, was held on the 27th day of November 1956.

For the Auckland District three candidates were nominated, R. F. D. Crosby, J. M. Dickey, and F. W. G. Johnson, and I declare these three to be duly elected.

For the Wellington District three candidates were nominated, F. T. Castle, H. F. Clarke, and H. V. Hubbard, and I declare these three to be duly elected.

For the Canterbury District three candidates were nominated, and votes were recorded as follows: E. P. Shier, 80 votes; L. J. Dale, 40 votes; F. B. Price, 36 votes.

I therefore declare Messrs Shier and Dale to be duly elected.

For the Otago District one candidate, W. A. Baylis, was nominated, whom I declare to be duly elected.

NEW PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the New Plymouth City Council hereby resolves:

“That, for the purpose of providing the redemption payments payable in respect of a loan of £30,000, being the second portion of a loan of £60,000 authorised to be raised by the Council by an Order in Council made on 6 June 1956 and published in Gazette, No. 34, of 14 June 1956, at page 784, and interest and other charges thereon (which said loan of £60,000 is the third issue of the Streets Improvement Loan 1953 authorised to be raised by the Council under the above-mentioned Act by a poll of ratepayers, the result of such poll being published in Gazette, No. 1, of 7 January 1954, at page 54), the said loan of £60,000 being for the purpose of the construction of streets within the City of New Plymouth, including (a) the reconstruction, grading, formation, metalling, gravelling, and surface-sealing of carriageways and footways in streets; (b) the construction and provision of channels, kerbs, and retaining walls in streets; and (c) the provision and laying of pipes and drains to convey stormwater from or under streets, the Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of New Plymouth (excluding, however, the area included in the city by Order in Council made on 8 August 1955 and published in Gazette, No. 52, of 11 August 1955, at page 1258); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of December and the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of eighteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the New Plymouth City Council held on the 29th day of November 1956.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridge Renewal Loan 1956

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of forty thousand pounds (£40,000) authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of rebuilding bridges, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and ninety-five one thousandths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the district comprising the whole of the County of Cook; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We certify that the foregoing is a true copy and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Cook County Council held on the 22nd day of November 1956.

EAST COAST BAYS BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the East Coast Bays Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000 authorised to be raised by the East Coast Bays Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of formation, metalling, sealing, and forming and constructing footpaths on one side of the following roads, also water-pipe crossings: Carlisle Road, Brown’s Bay Road, Knight’s Road, and Hastings Road; also formation, metalling, and sealing East Coast Road, renewing Clyde Road Bridge, stormwater drainage, the said East Coast Bays Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one decimal five pence (1·5d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of East Coast Bays; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
