HAURAKI PLAINS WEST DRAINAGE DISTRICTS
NOTICE OF ELECTION OF TRUSTEES
Pursuant to section 17 of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953, I hereby give notice that the following persons have been duly nominated as candidates for the office of Trustees for the Hauraki Plains West Drainage Board:
Miranda Subdivision, Stewart James Clark;
Ngatea-Pipiroa South Subdivision, Jack Waldron Constantine;
Ngatea-Pipiroa Central Subdivision, Wallace John Neate;
Ngatea-Pipiroa East Subdivision, Reginald William James Phillips;
Puhunga Island Subdivision, David William Dudding; and Waitakaruru Subdivision, Ralph Ernest Robertson,
and thereto being only one (1) vacancy to be filled in each of the above-named subdivisions, I hereby declare the said:

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Workers' Dwelling Loan 1952, £35,000—Balance £15,000
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the Waitemata County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of workers' dwellings, the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-five thousandths of a penny (0·035d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property in the County of Waitemata; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, for a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of the resolution making a special rate passed at the meeting of the Waitemata County Council held at the Council Chambers, 199 Karangahape Road, Auckland, on Thursday, 8 November 1956.

BOROUGH OF PICTON
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan 1956, £3,500
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it on that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Council of the Borough of Picton doth hereby resolve as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of three thousand five hundred pounds (£3,500) authorised to be raised by the Picton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a staff house, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of one penny (½d.) in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Picton, which shall be appropriated as security for the purpose of the payment of interest and principal of the said loan; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above-mentioned resolution was passed at a meeting of the Picton Borough Council held on the 15th day of November 1956.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Electricity Development Loan 1956, of £350,000
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350,000 authorised to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the electrical reticulation and distribution system of the Council, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·4598254d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on 12 November 1956.

PORT CHALMERS BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waterworks Improvement Loan 1955, £26,500
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Port Chalmers Borough Council hereby resolves:
"That the security for the interest and repayment of principal moneys of the said special loan of twenty-six thousand five hundred pounds (£26,500) shall be an annual-recurring special rate of sixpence and one farthing (6¼d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of annual value) of all rateable property situate within the Borough of Port Chalmers."

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
General Housing Loan 1956, £20,000
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalment of principal and interest and other loan charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Raglan County Council under authority of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and the Counties Act 1920 for the purpose of making advances to workers for the erection of houses, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nought decimal one of a penny (0·1d.) in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property comprising the whole of the County of Raglan; such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be paid yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years."
The above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on 26 November 1956.

TAUMARUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION RAISING SPECIAL LOAN
THAT, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Counties Act 1920, the Local Government Loans Act 1926, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling, and by virtue of the sanction of the Local Government Loans Board held on 15 November 1955, the Taumarunui County Council hereby resolves by way of special order to raise a special loan of fifty-three thousand pounds (£53,000) to be known as the Workers' Dwelling Loan 1955 for the purpose of providing workers' dwellings and advancing moneys to employees for housing.
Such loan to be secured by the net proceeds from the renting of the houses and by a special rate of 0·00677 of a pound on the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the County of Taumarunui.
I hereby certify that the above written is a true and correct extract from the minutes of a special meeting of the Taumarunui County Council held on Friday, 16 December 1955.
