LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and in the matter of the Lower Hutt Borough Empowering Act 1927.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Lower Hutt City Council proposes, by virtue of the above-mentioned Acts and of all other Acts and powers it thereunto enabling, to execute a public work, to wit, the extension of Riverside Drive in the City of Lower Hutt, and for the purposes of such public work the Council requires to take the lands more particularly described in the Schedule hereto for street and in connection with street extension respectively; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said pieces of land so required to be taken is deposited at the offices of the Council situate at the corner of Laings Road and High Street in the City of Lower Hutt and is there open for inspection during ordinary office hours.
Notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said pieces of land should, if they have any well grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said pieces of land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice to the Lower Hutt City Council at its offices situate as aforesaid.

(1) 26-31 perches, more or less, being part Section 119, Epuni Hamlet, part certificate of title 550/64, Wellington Registry, being the land coloured blue, edged blue, on Survey Office Plan 23664.
(2) 1 rood 2 perches, part Section 118, Epuni Hamlet, part certificate of title, Volume 482, folio 243, being the land coloured orange on Survey Office Plan 23664.
(b) IN CONNECTION WITH STREET EXTENSION
(1) 0-52 of a perch, part Section 119, Epuni Hamlet, part certificate of title, Volume 550, folio 64, being the land coloured orange on Survey Office Plan 23664.
(2) 1 rood 39 perches, being part Section 119, Epuni Hamlet, part certificate of title, Volume 550, folio 64, being the land coloured blue on Survey Office Plan 23664.
(3) 0-83 of a perch, being part Section 118, Epuni Hamlet, and part certificate of title, Volume 482, folio 243, being the land coloured blue on Survey Office Plan 23664.
(4) 6 perches, being part Section 118, Epuni Hamlet, part certificate of title, Volume 482, folio 243, being the land coloured orange, edged orange, on Survey Office Plan 23664.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of ratepayers of the City of Lower Hutt taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said city be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded were:
For unimproved value.............. 2,397.
Against unimproved value.......... 3,123.
Informal......................... 126.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Richmond taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 231.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 260.
Informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT A SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the County Town of Fairlie taken on 17 November 1956 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said County Town be on the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 211.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 89.
Informal votes, 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Kaikoura County Town taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said County Town be on the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 256.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 197.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Franklin taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said county be on the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,245.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,641.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL
As provided by section 42 of the Rating Act 1925 and its amendments, I, Henry Roderick Stirling, Chairman of the Wyndham Town Council, do hereby give public notice that the poll held at Wyndham on Saturday, 17 November last, on the question of rating on unimproved values or improved values resulted as follows:
Those in favour of rating on unimproved value, 78.
Those in favour of rating on improved values, 28.
Informal votes, 8.
I therefore hereby declare the proposal to rate on unimproved value to be duly carried.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON ELECTION OF TRUSTEE
PURSUANT to section 41 (6) of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953, I hereby give notice that the number of votes received by each candidate for the office of Trustee for the Ngatea-Pipiroa West Subdivision of the Hauraki Plains West Drainage District is as follows:
James Stanley Donaghy, 31; and
Richard Pierce Williams, 43,
and I hereby declare the said Richard Pierce Williams to be duly elected to such office.
