CARTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Sewerage Extension Loan 1956, £60,000

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Carterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of sixty thousand pounds (£60,000) authorised to be raised by the Carterton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the sewerage system in the borough, the said Carterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five and decimal one nine eight nine pence (5·1989d.) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area to be sewered (on the basis of the unimproved value); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being the period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

OTAKI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Otaki War Memorial Hall Supplementary Loan 1955, £5,000

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Otaki Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000 authorised to be raised by the Otaki Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting part of the cost of erecting a war memorial hall and public library, the said Otaki Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a penny in the pound, upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Otaki; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Otaki Borough Council at a meeting of the Council held on the 24th day of September 1956.

WAIUKU BOROUGH COUNCIL

SPECIAL RATE FOR SECURITY

Main Highways Loan 1956, £4,500

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waiuku Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,500 authorised to be raised by the Waiuku Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the Council's share of the cost of reconstructing the Drury-Kohe Kohe and the Puni-Waiuku Main Highways, the said Waiuku Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought nine two four pence (0·0924d.) in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the Town District of Waiuku, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April of each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above extract is a true copy of resolution No. 610 passed by the Waiuku Borough Council at the special meeting held on the 13th day of August 1956 and recorded in the Council's minute book.

Public Hall Supplementary Loan, 1956, £700

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waiuku Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700 authorised to be raised by the Waiuku Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the purpose for which the Public Hall Loan 1956, £7,000, was raised, the said Waiuku Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought one four one pence (0·0141d.) in the pound upon the

rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the Town District of Waiuku, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April of each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR LEAVE TO BRING IN A PRIVATE BILL

An Act to declare that the objects and purposes of the declaration of trust relating to The St. Mary's Guild of Wellington include certain objects, purposes, and powers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the trustees of The St. Mary's Guild of Wellington (which is incorporated under the Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act 1908) and who are the trustees of the homes at Karori, Wellington, known as The St. Mary's Homes, intend to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its present session for leave to bring in a private Bill, the short title of which is "An Act to declare that the objects and purposes of The St. Mary's Guild include certain objects, purposes, and powers". The objects of the Bill are:

To provide that the objects and purposes of the declaration of trust dated the 1st day of October 1900 relating to The St. Mary's Guild (but without restricting the trusts therein declared or the generality thereof) shall be deemed to include and to have always included the following objects, purposes, and powers:

(a) To provide for the supply of the physical wants of the sick, aged, destitute, poor, or helpless persons.
(b) To control, govern, maintain, manage, and carry on a home or homes for such persons.

The promoters of the Bill are the trustees of The St. Mary's Guild, whose address for service and communications is at the offices of Messrs Izard, Weston, Stevenson, and Co., Solicitors, 161 Featherston Street, Wellington, where a copy of the Bill may be inspected.
