WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Electricity Loan 1956 of £250,000
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Wellington City Council held on the 12th day of September
1956:

"In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act
1926 and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby
resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of
two hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£250,000), to be
known as the Wellington City Electricity Loan 1956 of
£250,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
constructing a maintenance and workshop building and
heavy storage building in Webb Street, the Wellington City
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ninety-four
eight-hundredths of a penny (94/800d.) in the pound on the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly
on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan
is fully paid off."

PATEA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridges Loan 1956, £40,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested and in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Patea County
Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £40,000 authorised to be raised
by the Patea County Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of meeting portion of the cost of renewing
or constructing bridges, the said Patea County Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (%d.)
in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property
in the Patea County, comprising the whole of the County of
Patea, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly
on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or
until the loan is fully paid off."

MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Mount Albert Tram Track Loan 1956, £6,600
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Mount
Albert Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £6,600 (six thousand six hundred pounds),
Tram Track Roading Loan 1926, £6,600, authorised to be
raised by the Mount Albert Borough Council under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of meeting the cost of restoring
and improving Sandringham Road, the said Mount Albert
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
0-007 pence in the pound, upon the rateable value on the
basis of the capital value of all rateable property in the
Borough of Mount Albert, and that such special rate shall
be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

Given under the Common Seal of the Mayor, Councillors,
and Citizens of the Borough of Mount Albert this 11th day
of September 1956.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the
Counties Act 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waimairi County Council
proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts
to take for the purposes of a road the land described in the
Schedule hereto.

All persons affected shall, if they have any objection to the
taking of the said land, set forth in writing such objection
and send such writing within forty days from the date of the
first publication of this notice addressed to the County Clerk
of the Waimairi County Council at the office of the said
Council.

SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land situated in the Christchurch Survey
District containing three-tenths of a perch, being Lot 3 on
Deposit Plan 17869, being part of the land comprised and
described in certificate of title, Volume 315, folio 45, Canterbury
District.

MOUNT ROSKILL BOROUGH COUNCIL

INCREASE IN NUMBER OF COUNCILLORS

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Mount
Roskill Borough Council held on the 11th day of September
1956 the under-mentioned resolution was duly passed by way
of special order, pursuant to section 53 of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954, and was duly confirmed at a subsequent
special meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the 9th
day of October 1956:

"That, as from and inclusive of the election of councillors
to be held on the 17th day of November 1956, the total number
of councillors shall be twelve (12), exclusive of the
Mayor."

PRIVATE BILL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR LEAVE TO BRING IN A
PRIVATE BILL

An Act to declare that the objects and purposes of the
declaration of trust relating to The St. Mary's Guild of
Wellington include certain objects, purposes, and powers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the trustees of The St. Mary's
Guild of Wellington (which is incorporated under the
Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act 1908)
and who are the trustees of the homes at Karori, Wellington,
known as The St. Mary's Homes, intend to apply by petition
to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its present
session for leave to bring in a private Bill, the short title of
which is "An Act to declare that the objects and purposes
of The St. Mary's Guild include certain objects, purposes,
and powers". The objects of the Bill are:

To provide that the objects and purposes of the declaration
of trust dated the 1st day of October 1900 relating to The
St. Mary's Guild (but without restricting the trusts therein
declared or the generality thereof) shall be deemed to
include and to have always included the following objects,
purposes, and powers:

(a) To provide for the supply of the physical wants of
the sick, aged, destitute, poor, or helpless persons.
(b) To control, govern, maintain, manage, and carry on
a home or homes for such persons.

The promoters of the Bill are the trustees of The St.
Mary's Guild, whose address for service and communications
is at the offices of Messrs Izard, Weston, Stevenson, and Co.,
Solicitors, 161 Featherston Street, Wellington, where a copy
of the Bill may be inspected.
