Education Schemes and Land Reservations




Scheme of Control of Fairfield High School

Pursuant to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Fairfield High School being controlled in accordance with the standard scheme of control for secondary schools published in the Gazette on 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:
Provided that—
(a) The standard scheme shall be read as if clauses 7, 8, and 9 were revoked:
(b) Clause 11 of the standard scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held not later than the first week of the month of May in the year 1957, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1959” were substituted therefor:
(c) Clause 16 of the standard scheme shall be read as if the words “Borough Council” were omitted, and the words “the Fairfield Businessmen’s Association” were substituted therefor:
(d) Clause 19 of the standard scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1959.
(e) Clause 43 of the standard scheme shall be read as if the words “The secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.

Scheme of Control of Westlake High School

Pursuant to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Westlake High School being controlled in accordance with the standard scheme of control for secondary schools published in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:

Land in Peninsula County Declared to be a Public Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Peninsula County Council on the 17th day of May 1956:
“That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Peninsula County Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the said county in fee simple and described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a public reserve for a children’s playground within the meaning of the said Act.”
