NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 5th day of September 1956, cancelled the registry of Taneatua Lodge, No. 45, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register No. 146/129), held at Taneatua, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Eden Temperance Benefit Friendly Society, Register No. 330, held at Auckland, is dissolved by instrument, registered at this office on the 6th day of September 1956, unless, within three months from the date of the Gazette in which this advertisement appears, proceedings be commenced by a member or other person interested in or having a claim on the funds of the society to set aside such dissolution, and the same be set aside accordingly.

THE KYEBURN RABBIT BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
PURSUANT to the powers conferred by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and every other power and authority it thereunto enabling, the Kyeburn Rabbit Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the Housing Loan 1956, interest, and other charges on the loan of £5,000 authorised to be raised by the Kyeburn Rabbit Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing accommodation for employees of the Board, the said Kyeburn Rabbit Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. upon each acre of all rateable property in the said Kyeburn Rabbit Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is repaid.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Funding Overdraft Loan of £60,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and section 7 of the Local Legislation Act 1955, the Buller County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £60,000 authorised to be raised by the Buller County Council under the above-mentioned Act for a Funding Overdraft Loan 1955, £60,000, the said Buller County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7¾d. in the pound on all rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the Buller County, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
It is hereby certified that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Buller County Council held on Wednesday, the 29th day of August 1956.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Waimarie Water Loan of £1000, 1956
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Buller County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000 authorised to be raised by the Buller County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the Waimarie water supply, the said Buller County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1s. 6d. in the pound on all rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Waimarie Special Rating Area in the Mokihinui Riding comprising all the rateable land described below:
“Commencing at Trig. AP, Block X, Mokihinui, travelling in a southerly direction to the south-western corner of Section 1, Block X; thence along the boundary of this section to its most southern corner peg; thence in an easterly direction to the 27½-mile peg on the Westport–Karamea Main Highway; from here travel directly to the left bank of the Mokihinui River; thence along this bank to the mouth of the river and from here in a southerly direction, along the foreshore back to the point of commencement.
“And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
It is hereby certified that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Buller County Council held on Friday, the 23rd day of March 1956.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation and Building Loan 1956, £120,000
NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, held at the Board’s Offices, corner of Bridge and Lipsey Streets, Te Aroha, on the 4th day of September 1956, the following resolution was passed:
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and amendments thereto, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Thames Valley Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Reticulation and Building Loan 1956 of £120,000 authorised to be raised by the Board under the above-mentioned Act and amendments thereto for the purpose of providing extensions and improvements to the reticulation in the Thames Valley Electric Power District and erecting buildings, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-third (1/23rd) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the whole of the Thames Valley Electric Power District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

PROPOSAL TO STOP STREET

PURSUANT to the conditions set forth in the Sixth Schedule to the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, public notice is hereby given that the Auckland City Council proposes to stop, in manner provided by the said Act, portion of the street mentioned in the Schedule hereunder, and that a plan of the portion of the street so proposed to be stopped is open for inspection at the Town Clerk’s office, Town Hall, Auckland, and may be inspected there, without fee, during office hours; and further notice is hereby given that any person objecting to such proposal must lodge his or her objection in writing at the Town Clerk’s office aforesaid, on or before the 23rd day of October 1956.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land containing 23·8 perches, more or less, coloured green on Survey Office Plan No. 39575, and being portion of New Street, Auckland, bounded by Lot 170 of a subdivision of Allotment 14 of Section 8 of the Suburbs of Auckland, by Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 36144, and land below mean high-water mark, Waitemata Harbour.
