NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 25th day of January 1956, cancelled the registry of Gladstone Lodge, No. 38, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand Friendly Society (Register No. 146/25), held at Fairlie, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL
RURAL HOUSING LOAN
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hawke’s Bay County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000 authorised to be raised by the Hawke’s Bay County Council under the above-mentioned Act for rural housing, the said Hawke’s Bay County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/60d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hawke’s Bay County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Community Centres (Baths No. 3) Loan 1955, £15,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing part of the cost of constructing swimming baths at Naenae, Lower Hutt, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three hundred and thirty-one thousandths of a penny (0·331d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is paid off.”

PAPAKURA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Water Supply Improvement Loan 1952 (Fourth Portion £10,000)
“THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Papakura Borough Council hereby resolves by special resolution, intended to operate as a special order, that, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) (hereinafter referred to as ‘the said loan’), being the fourth portion of the loan of sixty-eight thousand four hundred pounds (£68,400) known as the Water Supply Improvement Loan 1952, £68,400, the said loan being authorised to be raised by the Papakura Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of renewing water-supply mains, providing a reservoir, renewing water-purification plant, and extending the water reticulation system of the said borough, the Papakura Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Papakura, comprising the whole of the Borough of Papakura; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.”
The above special resolution, intended to operate as a special order, was passed at a special meeting of the Papakura Borough Council convened for that purpose and held on the 6th day of December 1955, and was confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 10th day of January 1956, having meantime been advertised in The Ribbon newspaper on the 14th day of December 1955 and in The Auckland Star newspaper on the 29th day of December 1955.

OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Ohura County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £2,300 authorised to be raised by the Ohura County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing a dwelling at Niho Niho, the said Ohura County Council makes and levies a special rate of one farthing (¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Ohura; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above resolution was carried at a meeting of the Council held on 16 January 1956.
