HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
P R S E N T U A N T to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 14 of the Rabbits Act 1955 applies, a rabbit district and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Silver Peaks Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE SILVER PEAKS RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Taieri and Waikouaiti Counties, containing 29,230 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point in the centre of the north branch of the Waikouaiti River in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Hummockside Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the centre of the north branch of the Waikouaiti River to its confluence with the south branch of the Waikouaiti River; thence generally south-westerly along the centre of the south branch of the Waikouaiti River to the eastern boundary of Block X, Waikouaiti Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Block X aforesaid to the southern boundary of Section 1, Block X; thence generally south-westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that Section 1 to the eastern boundary of Block V, Silverpeak Survey District; thence northerly, westerly, north-westerly, and again westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of Block V, and the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Block VI, Silverpeak Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section 1, Block VIII, Silverpeak Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block VIII aforesaid, and that boundary produced to the centre of the Three O'Clock Creek; thence generally north-easterly along the centre of the Three O'Clock Creek to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 3, Block IX, Silverpeak Survey District; thence generally north-easterly and easterly, to and along the north-western and northern boundaries of Section 3, Block IX aforesaid, and the northern boundary of Section 21, Block VI, Waikouaiti Survey District, to and across Toomey Road to the eastern side thereof; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of Toomey Road to the southern boundary of Hummockside Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Hummockside Survey District to the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Hummockside Survey District; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, and south-easterly along south-western, north-western and north-eastern boundaries Section 1, Block IV aforesaid, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the point of commencement.

P R S E N T U A N T to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Bruce Rabbit District Order 1956.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. - The boundaries of the Bruce Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 24th day of September 1952, are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE BRUCE RABBIT BOARD
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Bruce County and Milton Borough, containing 77,750 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the railway bridge adjoining Section 8, Block XXI, Waihola Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the centre of the Taieri River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 1 of 21, Block I, Clarendon Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary and generally south-westerly along public roads forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 1 of 39, 37, 35, and 34, Block I aforesaid, and Section 2, Block IV, Clarendon Survey District, to Section 4, Block IV aforesaid; thence westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of said Section 4 and Section 6 to and generally north-westerly along a public road intersecting Section 1 of 2, and along the northern boundary of said Section 1 of 2, Block II, Clarendon Survey District, to a closed road; thence generally south-westerly along that closed road and again by a public road generally forming the north-western or northern boundaries of Sections 1 of 2, 2 of 2, 3, 9, 19, 18, 17, 16, 14, 1 of 15, Block II aforesaid, and Sections 6, 5, 14 and 1 of 11, Block III, Clarendon Survey District, to and along the north-western boundary of Section 12 to Narrowdale Road; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along that road to and southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 18 and 13, Block II, Akatore Survey District; thence westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of Sections 6 and 3, and westerly along the southern boundary of Section 2, Block II aforesaid; thence generally south-westerly along public roads forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 45 and 46, intersecting Sections 12, 14, 1 of 13, 1 of 11, again 1 of 13, forming the boundaries of Sections 55, 56, 1 of 17, 19, 37, 23, 57, and 58, all of Block I, Akatore Survey District, to the northern boundary of Block VI, Akatore Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary and its production to the centre of the Tokomairiro River; thence generally southerly along the centre of that river, to and south-westerly along Sally Gully Road, to and north-westerly along a public road forming the western boundary of D.P. 5832; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 1 of 6 and 2 of 6, and the south-western boundaries of 2 of 6 and 5, to and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 8, and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 13, Block I, Kaitangata Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of Section 3s, Tokoiti Settlement; thence south-westerly along that boundary to a public road; thence south-westerly along the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections 29, 28, and 1, Block III, Kaitangata Survey District; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the northern and western boundaries of Section 38, and Sections 37 and 36, to and westerly along the northern boundary of Section 32, and again south-westerly along the western boundaries of Sections 32 and 33, all of Block II, Kaitangata Survey District, to a public road; thence north-easterly along that boundary and its production to the Milton-Queenstown State Highway; thence generally south-easterly along that highway to the west branch of the Tokomairiro River; thence generally northerly up the centre of that branch to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 26, Block V, Table Hill Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along that road to Flett's Bridge Road; thence north-easterly along that road and southerly along the western boundary of Sections 28 and 27, Block V, Table Hill Survey District, to a road forming the northern boundary of Sections 41, 42, 19, and 43, Block VI, Table Hill Survey District; thence generally easterly along that road to the south-eastern corner of Section 7, Block VI, Table Hill Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of that section to the Tokomairiro River, East Branch; thence generally northerly along the centre of that river, to and easterly along the road intersecting Section 22, Block VI, Table Hill Survey District, to Douglas Road; thence generally northerly and easterly along Douglas Road to a public road; thence generally easterly along that road on the northern boundaries of Sections 31, 32, 33, and 34, Block X, Clarendon Survey District, to the eastern boundary of said Block; thence southerly along that boundary to the Clarendon-Circle Hill Road; thence generally south-easterly along that road to Clarendon-Berwick Road; thence north-easterly along Clarendon-Berwick Road to the south-western boundary of Block X, Waihola Survey District; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the shore of Lake Waihola; thence generally north-easterly along the south-eastern shores of Lake Waihola and the north-western boundary of Block XXI, Waihola Survey District, to the point of commencement.
