Authorisation of Investment of £3,600 of the Taranaki Harbour Board's Funds

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to Section 53 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Taranaki Harbour Board to invest in debentures of the Lyttelton Harbour Board shown in the first column of the Schedule hereto, to mature on the dates shown in the second column of the Schedule hereto, out of its depreciation reserve funds the sums shown in the third column of the Schedule hereto.

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Authorising the Borrowing by the Auckland Electric Power Board by Way of Hypothecation of Debentures Issued in Respect of a Loan of £800,000

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Whereas by Orders in Council made on the 11th day of January 1955 and the 18th day of April 1955, consent was given to the raising by the Auckland Electric Power Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of a loan of eight hundred thousand pounds to be known as "General Extension and Improvement Loan 1955" (hereinafter called the said loan):
And whereas the said local authority, pending the raising of portion of the said loan amounting to four hundred thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum), is desirous of borrowing the said sum by hypothecation or mortgage, pursuant to section 34 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, of the debentures authorised to be issued in respect of the said loan:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932-33 and section 8 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act 1933, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the said local authority, pending the raising of the said sum, borrowing the said sum or any part thereof by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures to the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand at a rate of interest not exceeding 4 per cent per annum, such interest to be computed on the daily-debtor balances in the accounts of the corporation, repayable on demand, and hereby prescribes that the money borrowed by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures shall, pending the raising of the said sum, be repaid by the annual or half-yearly instalments equivalent to the instalments of principal which would have been repaid if on the first day on which any money is borrowed by such hypothecation or mortgage the whole of the amount hereby authorised to be hypothecated or mortgaged had been raised on the conditions already determined under the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926.

Conferring on Kowai County Council Certain Powers of Borough Councils With Respect to Water Supply

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 182 of the Counties Act 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby confers on the Kowai County Council all the powers with respect to the supply of water for domestic or industrial purposes exercisable by a duly constituted Borough Council under sections 95, 96, 98 to 100, and Part XVII (with the exception of sections 246, 248, and 249), and section 369 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
