Consenting to Land Being Taken for the Disposal of Sewage
in Block XVI, Belmont Survey District, Hutt County

At the Government House at Wellington this 8th day of August 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for the disposal of sewage.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken: 15 acres 3 roods 7 perches.
Being part Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 13941, being part Section 5, Wainuiomata District.
Situated in Block XVI, Belmont Survey District. (S.O. 23428.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 150964 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Silverdale and Districts Secondary Urban Fire District Constituted

ORDER IN COUNCIL

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Waitemata County Council requested that the area described in the Schedule hereto be constituted a secondary urban fire district:
And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the Fire Service Council has certified that the appropriate standards for a secondary urban fire district have been complied with in respect of the said area:
And whereas, pursuant to section 15 of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the request has been referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has recommended that action be taken under the Fire Services Act 1949 to constitute the said area a secondary urban fire district:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a secondary urban fire district by the name of Silverdale and Districts Secondary Urban Fire District.
SCHEDULE
SILVERDALE AND DISTRICTS SECONDARY URBAN FIRE DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wainui Riding of the Waitemata County, bounded commencing at the mouth of Hatfieldโs Creek, by Hauraki Gulf, to and by the south-western boundary of Allotment 6, Waiwera Parish, to and by Hauraki Gulf, to and by the Pukeatua Riding boundary, to and by the right bank of Weiti Stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Allotment 22, Waiwera Parish, to and by that boundary, to and by Waterloo Road to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Wainui-Silverdale road, to and by that side of Wainui-Silverdale road, to and by the left bank of Orewa River, to and by the south-eastern side of a road intersecting Allotment E 68, Waiwera Parish; thence by a right line to and by the eastern side of a road intersecting Allotment 67, Waiwera Parish, and adjoining the western boundaries of Allotments W 233, 231, NW 232, 228, and the south-western boundary of Allotment 227, all of Waiwera Parish, to and by the western boundary of that allotment to the north-eastern corner of Allotment S 281, Waiwera Parish; thence by a right line running due east to Otanerua Stream and by that stream and Hatfield Creek to the north of that creek, being the place of commencement.

Counties of Kaitieke, Ohura, and Taumarunui United

ORDER IN COUNCIL

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 12th day of March 1956 providing for the union of the Counties of Kaitieke, Ohura, and Taumarunui, and making supplementary provisions incidental thereto:
And whereas at a poll of the electors of the County of Kaitieke, taken pursuant to section 22 of the said Act, the valid votes recorded against the proposal that the said county should be united with the Counties of Ohura and Taumarunui were less than sixty per cent of the total valid votes recorded at that poll:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:

That the Counties of Kaitieke, Ohura, and Taumarunui are hereby united to form one county under the name of the County of Taumarunui (hereinafter referred to as the united County).

That the united County is hereby divided into ten ridings, to be known respectively as the Kaitieke, Owhanga, Hunua, Otunui, Pungapunga, Taringamotu, Waimiha, Nihoniho, Ongarue, and Tokirima Ridings.

(a) That the Kaitieke Riding of the united County shall comprise the former Raurimu, Oio, Retaruke, and Manganui Ridings of the former County of Kaitieke.
(b) That the Owhanga and Hunua Ridings of the united County shall comprise respectively the former Owhanga and Hunua Ridings of the former County of Kaitieke.
(c) That the Otunui Riding of the united County shall comprise the former Otunui and Kirikau Ridings of the former County of Taumarunui.
(d) That the Pungapunga Riding of the united County shall comprise the former Pungapunga and Tuhua Ridings of the former County of Taumarunui.
(e) That the Taringamotu and Waimiha Ridings of the united County shall comprise respectively the former Taringamotu and Waimiha Ridings of the former County of Taumarunui.
(f) That the Nihoniho, Ongarue, and Tokirima Ridings of the united County shall comprise the areas described under the respective headings in the Schedule hereto.

That the number of members of the Council of the united County shall be ten, one of whom shall be elected for each riding.

That the first election of members of the Council of the united County shall be held on the day fixed by law for the next triennial general elections of members of county councils.

That, until the members elected at the first election of members of the Council of the united County come into office, the Council of the united County shall consist of three members of the Council of the former County of Kaitieke to be chosen by that Council, three members of the Council of the former County of Ohura to be chosen by that Council, and four members of the Council of the former County of Taumarunui to be chosen by that Council. For the purpose of choosing the members of the Council of the united County as aforesaid but for no other purpose the Councils of the counties hereby united shall continue in office.

That, subject as otherwise provided herein, the said union shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1920.
SCHEDULE
NIHONIHO RIDINGโCOUNTY OF TAUMARUNUI
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District comprising portion of the Taumarunui County bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Panirau Stream at its intersection with the western boundary of Block IX, Aria Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Ohura County as described in Gazette, No. 26 of 31 March 1938, at page 823; thence northerly and easterly generally by that boundary to the south-western boundary of the Ongarue Riding as hereinbefore described; thence south-easterly generally by that boundary to the northern boundary of Section 8, Block IV, Ohura Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Ohura County as described in Gazette,
