Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945
Pursuant to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby declares the parts of the tribal districts described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act and hereby assigns to each area the name appearing at the head of the description of such area.
SCHEDULE
WAIPA TRIBAL DISTRICT
Owairaka Valley Tribal Committee Area
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Owairaka Stream and the Puniu River; thence proceeding north-easterly along a straight line to the south-western corner of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 23372, in Block IX, Maungatautari Survey District, and a straight line in the direction of Trig. Station 1427 (Maungatautari) in Block VII, Maungatautari Survey District, to its intersection with a straight line between the southernmost corner of Pukekura No. 14 Block in Block II, Maungatautari Survey District, and a point in the middle of the Waikato River in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 10A, Tautari Settlement, in Block XII, Maungatautari Survey District; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned straight line to the middle of the Waikato River; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block III, Wharepapa Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Section 2 aforesaid, Section 1, Block III, and Sections 5 and 3, Block II, all of Wharepapa Survey District, to Trig. Station 1593 (Whatauri); thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 3 and 4, Block II, Wharepapa Survey District, and Wharepuhunga No. 14B Block to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 9 on Deposited Plan No. 7302; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 9 aforesaid, Wharepuhunga Nos. 12B 2, 12B 1, 12A 1, and 12A 2A Blocks, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangatutu Stream; thence down the middle of the Mangatutu Stream to its confluence with the Puniu River; thence up the middle of the Puniu River to its confluence with the Owairaka Stream, being the point of commencement.
Wharepuhunga Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Mangatutu Stream in line with the south-eastern boundary of the Wharepuhunga No. 12A 2A Block in Block IV, Mangaorongo Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Owairaka Valley Tribal Committee area hereinbefore described; thence proceeding easterly generally along the boundary of that area to the middle of the Waikato River; thence up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Waipapa Stream in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District; thence westerly along a straight line to Trig. Station Te Ranga in Block XIV, Wharepapa Survey District, and a straight line to a point in the middle of the Mangatutu Stream in line with the southern boundary of the eastern portion of Rangitoto A No. 27B Block in Block XIII, Wharepapa Survey District; thence down the middle of the Mangatutu Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Wharepuhunga No. 12A 2A Block, being the point of commencement.
Pirongia Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Kawhia State Highway on the production of the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Pirongia Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly generally to and along that boundary, the south-eastern boundary of Section 14, Block VI, Pirongia Survey District, the production of the last-mentioned boundary to Trig. Station Te Ake O Hikopiro in Block VI aforesaid, and a straight line to Trig. Station 1922 (Mahaukura) in Block III, Pirongia Survey District; thence north-westerly along a straight line to Trig. Station Tahanui in Block II, Pirongia Survey District; thence north-easterly along a straight line to the southernmost corner of Section 204, Tuhikaramea Parish in Block XII, Alexandra Survey District; thence easterly along a straight line to the southernmost corner of Section 112, Te Rapa Parish, in Block VII, Hamilton Survey District, and the production of the said straight line to the middle of the Waikato River; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 20B, Pukekura Parish, in Block IX, Cambridge Survey District; thence southerly to and along the eastern boundaries of the said Section 20B and Sections 21A, 21, 24, and 26 and the western boundary of Lot A of Section 165, Pukekura Parish, all in Block IX aforesaid to the south-western corner of the said Lot A; thence south-easterly along a straight line to Trig. Station 52 (Pukekura) in Block XIV, Cambridge Survey District, being a point on the south-eastern boundary of the Pukekura Parish; thence south-westerly along that parish boundary and the south-eastern boundary of the Puniu Parish to the middle of the Mangaohoi Stream; thence down the middle of that stream and the middle of the Mangapiko Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 317, Mangapiko Parish, near the north-western corner of the Borough of Te Awamutu; thence westerly along a straight line to the confluence of the Waipa and Puniu Rivers; thence up the middle of the Waipa River to its intersection with the middle of the Kawhia State Highway; thence westerly generally along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Pirongia Survey District, being the point of commencement.
Te Awamutu Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Waipa and Puniu Rivers in Block VIII, Pirongia Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along a straight line to a point in the middle of the Mangapiko Stream in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 317, Mangapiko Parish, near the north-western corner of the Borough of Te Awamutu; thence up the middle of the Mangapiko Stream and the Mangaohoi Stream to its intersection with south-eastern boundary of Puniu Parish; thence south-westerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Puniu River; thence down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Waipa River, being the point of commencement.
Te Kopua Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District; thence proceeding down the middle of the Waipa River to its confluence with the Puniu River; thence up the middle of the Puniu River to its confluence with the Mangatutu Stream; thence south-westerly along a straight line to a point in the middle of the Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District, being the point of commencement.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of Motor Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1936
Pursuant to clause (9) of regulation 16 of the Traffic Regulations 1936* as inserted by regulation 5 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, Amendment No. 15, the Minister of Transport hereby approves, for the purposes of the said regulation, of the motor cycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
SAFETY helmets manufactured by Messrs. Glass Fibre Mouldings Ltd., England, and marked “Cresta”.
