Varying a Proclamation Declaring Parts of New Zealand to be a Tribal District Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 6 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, vary a Proclamation dated 21 May 1951 and published in the Gazette on 31 May 1951, at page 769, declaring parts of New Zealand to be a tribal district for the purposes of the said Act, by excluding from the Schedule thereto the description of the Waipa Tribal District, and substituting therefor the description appearing in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
WAIPA TRIBAL DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Kawhia State Highway on the production of the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Pirongia Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly generally to and along that boundary, the south-eastern boundary of Section 14, Block VI, Pirongia Survey District, the production of the last-mentioned boundary to Trig. Station Te Ake o Hikopiro in Block VI aforesaid, and a straight line to Trig. Station 1922 (Mahaukura), in Block III, Pirongia Survey District; thence north-westerly along a straight line to Trig. Station Tahanui in Block II, Pirongia Survey District; thence north-easterly along a straight line to the southernmost corner of Section 204, Tuhikaramea Parish, in Block XII, Alexandra Survey District; thence easterly along a straight line to the southernmost corner of Section 112, Te Rapa Parish, in Block VII, Hamilton Survey District, and the production of the said straight line to the middle of the Waikato River; thence up the middle of that river to the western boundary of the Borough of Cambridge as described in Gazette of 1886, at page 985; thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of that borough to the middle of the Waikato River; thence up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Waipapa Stream in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District; thence westerly along a straight line to Trig. Station Te Ranga in Block XIV, Wharepapa Survey District, and a straight line to a point in the middle of the Mangatutu Stream in line with the southern boundary of the eastern portion of Rangitoto A No. 27B Block in Block XIII, Wharepapa Survey District; thence down the middle of the Mangatutu Stream to its confluence with the Puniu River; thence south-westerly along a straight line to a point in the middle of the Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District; thence down the middle of the Waipa River to its intersection with the middle of the Kawhia State Highway; thence westerly generally along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Pirongia Survey District, being the point of commencement.

Amending a Proclamation Declaring Crown Land to be Set Apart for the Purposes of the Maori Housing Act 1935

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 31st day of August 1955 and published in Gazette of the 15th day of September 1955, Vol. I, page 1421 (hereinafter referred to as the said Proclamation), certain areas of Crown land situated in Block I, Tarawera Survey District, were proclaimed and declared to be Crown land set apart for the purposes of the Maori Housing Act 1935; and whereas an error was made in the description of the said lands in the Schedule to the said Proclamation and it is expedient that the error should be rectified; now, therefore, pursuant to section 2 of the Maori Housing Amendment Act 1938 and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby amend the said Proclamation by substituting the description set forth in the Schedule hereto for the description set forth in the Schedule to the said Proclamation.
SCHEDULE
ALL those parcels of land containing together 3 acres 2 roods 29·69 perches, more or less, being Lots 14 to 21 (inclusive), Lots 24 to 27 (inclusive), and Lots 30 to 35 (inclusive), Land Transfer Plan No. S.3358, being parts Section 5A, Block I, Tarawera Survey District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 27th day of July 1956.
