Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of
the Traffic Regulations 1936

PURSUANT to clause (26) of regulation 7, and clause (10)
of regulation 16 of the Traffic Regulations 1936,* the
Minister of Transport hereby approves, for the purposes of
the said regulations, red reflectors of the make and type
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
TAIL lamp assemblies incorporating reflex reflectors fitted as
standard equipment to Canadian Ford motor vehicles, and
marked "FRST-56 Fomoco" on lens and "No. 64 Mfg. by
Stimsonite" on reflex reflector.

Excluding Portions of Streets from Limitation as to Speed
Imposed by the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the
Minister of Transport hereby excludes those portions
of streets described in the Schedule from limitation as to
speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area within East Coast Bays Borough commencing
at the intersection of East Coast Road with the southern
boundary of the Borough; thence by a right line to a point on
Kowhai Road 15 chains in an easterly direction from its
junction with East Coast Road; thence by a right line to the
the junction of Agathis Avenue with Matipo Road; thence by
a right line to a point on Hastings Road 35 chains in an
easterly direction from its junction with Penzance Road;
thence by a right line to a point on Penzance Road 26 chains
in an easterly direction from its junction with Hastings Road;
thence by a right line to a point on Sunrise Avenue 32 chains
in an easterly direction from its junction with East Coast
Road; thence by a right line to a point on Knights Road
(Rothesay Bay Road) 10 chains in a north-easterly direction
from its junction with Browns Bay Road; thence by a right
line to a point on Browns Bay Road 5 chains in a northerly
direction from its junction with Knights Road; thence by a
right line to a point on Arran Road 8 chains in a north-
easterly direction from its junction with East Coast Road;
thence by a right line to a point on Carlisle Road (Firth
Road) 10 chains in an easterly direction from its intersection
with the East Coast Bays Borough boundary; thence by a
right line to the junction of County Road with Glenvar
Road; thence by a right line due north to the East Coast Bays
Borough boundary; thence along the said East Coast Bays
Borough boundary generally in a westerly, southerly, and
north-easterly direction to the point of commencement. As the
said area is more particularly shown outlined in green on the
plan marked TT. 1779 deposited in the office of the Transport
Department at Wellington.

Special Order Made by Akaroa County Council Altering
Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 100 of the Counties Act 1920, as
amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act
1921–22, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the
following special order made by the Akaroa County Council,
and fixes the 8th day of October 1956 as the date on which
the said special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
THAT in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the
Counties Act 1920, the Akaroa County Council proposes to
alter the boundaries of the Le Bons Bay and Wainui Ridings
in order to include within the Le Bons Bay Riding the area
described in the Schedule hereunder, and certified correct by
the Chief Surveyor.

SCHEDULE
AREA TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE WAINUI RIDING AND ADDED
TO THE LE BONS BAY RIDING
ALL that area in the Wainui Riding of the County of Akaroa
bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary
between the Le Bons and Wainui Ridings in Block III, Goughs
Survey District, the said point being on the mean high-water
mark of the sea in Waikerakikari Bay in line with the western
boundary of R.S. 18027; thence south-westerly generally along
the said mean high-water mark to a point in Stony Bay in line
with the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 6152; thence
north-westerly generally to and along the aforesaid boundary
and the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 6152, to the
road forming the north-western boundary of that lot; thence
north-easterly along the last-mentioned road to the north-
eastern boundary of R.S. 21677; thence north-westerly to and
along that boundary to the road forming the southern boun-
dary of R.S. 31238; thence north-easterly generally along the
last-mentioned road, to and along the western and northern
boundaries of R.S. 14559, and again along the road to Long
Bay Saddle; thence northerly generally along Main Highway
182 (Summit Road) to a point on the boundary between the
Le Bons and Wainui Ridings at the south-western corner of
R.S. 26067; thence north-easterly generally along the last-
mentioned boundary to the point of commencement.

LE BONS BAY RIDING
All that area in the County of Akaroa bounded by a line
commencing at a point in Block IV, Okains Survey District,
on the mean high-water mark of the sea near Pa Island in
line with the south-eastern side of the road forming the north-
western boundary of R.S. 23089; thence southerly and south-
westerly generally along the said mean high-water mark to a
point in Stony Bay in line with the south-western boundary of
Lot 3, D.P. 6152; thence north-westerly generally to and along
the aforesaid boundary and the south-western boundary of
Lot 2, D.P. 6152, to the road forming the north-western boun-
dary of that lot; thence north-easterly along the last-mentioned
road to the north-eastern boundary of R.S. 21677; thence
north-westerly to and along that boundary to the road form-
ing the southern boundary of R.S. 31238; thence north-easterly
generally along the last-mentioned road, to and along the
western and northern boundaries of R.S. 14559, and again
along the road to Long Bay Saddle; thence northerly generally
along Main Highway 182 (Summit Road) to the eastern
boundary of R.S. 35281; thence northerly to and along that
boundary to the road forming the southern boundary of R.S.
33127; thence north-easterly generally along the last-mentioned
road, the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of
R.S.s 25136, 25134, and 35202, the road forming the
southern boundaries of R.S.s 33465, 26609, 28035, and
20521, to the north-western boundary of R.S. 20522;
thence north-easterly generally along that boundary, the
south-western and north-western boundaries of R.S. 19391
to and along the south-eastern side of the road forming
the north-western boundaries of the last-mentioned section and
of R.S. 23089 and its production to the point of commence-
ment.

WAINUI RIDING
All that area in the County of Akaroa bounded by a line
commencing at a point in Block V, Goughs Survey District, on
the mean high-water mark of the sea in Stony Bay, in line
with the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 6152, the said
point being on the boundary of the Le Bons Bay Riding here-
inbefore described; thence south-westerly, northerly, southerly,
and westerly generally along the mean high-water mark of
the sea to the boundary of the County of Wairewa as described
in the Fourth Schedule of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Dis-
trict, Akaroa County, and Wairewa County Alteration of
Boundaries Act 1912; thence northerly generally along the
last-mentioned boundary to the road forming the south-western
boundary of R.S. 11547, Block XIV, Pigeon Bay Survey Dis-
trict; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned road to
Main Highway 182 (Summit Road); thence north-easterly,
south-easterly, and southerly generally along that Main High-
way and southerly and south-easterly along the boundary of
the Le Bons Bay Riding, hereinbefore described, to the point
of commencement, excepting thereout the Borough of Akaroa.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed by
way of special order at a special meeting of the Akaroa
County Council held in the Council Chambers, Duvauchelle,
on the 27th day of April 1956 and duly advertised, and con-
firmed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 1st
day of June 1956.
