POUKAWA DRAINAGE AREA—NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY GENERAL RATES, AND NOTICE OF AMENDMENT OF ANNUALLY RECURRING SPECIAL RATES
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the Second Schedule hereto to meet maintenance costs for the period 1 April 1956 to 31 March 1957.
Notice is also given that, pursuant to the said Act and its amendments, the annually recurring special rates made and levied on 30 March 1933, and payable on 30 August in each year on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area, have been amended as from 1 April 1956 to the amounts in the First Schedule hereto.
The amount of the general rates will be payable in one sum on 30 August 1956, together with the amount of the annually recurring special rates already made and levied.
The valuation roll of the area will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post Office Buildings, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SPECIAL RATES
CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, eightpence and thirty-eight one-hundredths of a penny (8.38d.) in the pound.
CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, one penny and forty one-hundredths of a penny (1.40d.) in the pound.
CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, twenty-eight one-hundredths of a penny (0.28d.) in the pound.
SECOND SCHEDULE
GENERAL RATES
CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, twelve pence and three one-hundredths of a penny (12.03d.) in the pound.
CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, twopence and one one-hundredth of a penny (2.01d.) in the pound.
CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, forty one-hundredths of a penny (0.40d.) in the pound.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 30th day of July 1956.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land for the purposes of the Land Act 1948, subject to notice of condition as to line of buildings or hoardings, K. 36762, Wellington Land Registry, as from the 30th day of July 1956.

Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land, and Revoking Previous Notice
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby revokes the notice dated 30 May 1956 and published in Gazette, 31 May 1956, No. 31, page 721, declaring land taken for a Government work and not required for that purpose to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 and, pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 9th day of April 1956.

Being Lots 1, 2, and 3 on the plan marked P.W.D. 150440 (H.D. Town and Country Planning Act 1953—City of Napier
WHEREAS the Napier Business Area Town Planning Scheme 1931, the Napier (Marewa) Town Planning Scheme 1936, the Napier (Marewa) Town Planning Scheme No. 2, the Napier (Marewa) Town Planning Scheme No. 3, and the Napier (Onekawa) Town Planning Scheme 1946 were finally approved under the Town Planning Act 1926 and its amendments and are operative under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 by virtue of section 16 of the Local Legislation Act 1955, notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, I have authorised the Napier City Council to prepare, recommend, and approve the remainder of its district scheme by the following sections:
Section 1—Maraenui-Onekawa South area as defined in the First Schedule hereto.
Section 2—City-Westshore area as defined in the Second Schedule hereto.
