THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

HAStINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000 authorised to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming at maturity debentures amounting to £6,000 of the Parks Extension Loan 1946, £39,000, and debentures amounting to £5,200 of the Community Centre (Preliminary) Loan 1946, £10,000, the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of six one-hundredths (0·06d.) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property appearing on the valuation roll of the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole borough; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be due and payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

THE CENTRAL WAIKATO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Loan (1956), £30,000

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board held on the 18th day of July 1956 the following resolution was passed:

"In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Central Waikato Electric Power Board resolves as follows:

"'That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Board's Reticulation Loan (1956), of £30,000, authorised to be raised by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board for the purpose of financing extensions and improvements to the Board's reticulation system within the said Board's electric supply district, the Central Waikato Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal 000084 of a penny in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Central Waikato Electric Power District, as the same is defined by Proclamation published in the Gazette on 27 July 1939, at page 2042, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of October in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully repaid.'"

BOROUGH OF NEW LYNN

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the New Lynn Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the abovementioned Acts, to execute certain public work, namely, to acquire the land hereunder described for the purpose of laying out and to construct a new street.

All that piece of land containing 6 perches, more or less, being part of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 36311 and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 1079, folio 13, Auckland Registry, subject to agreements as to fencing contained in transfer numbers 457146 and 527467, and mortgage number 385549, the said piece of land being coloured yellow on the plan hereunder mentioned.

And notice is given that a plan of the said land required is deposited in the public office of the Council, 70 Great North Road, New Lynn, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty days from the 26th day of July 1956 to the New Lynn Borough Council at its address aforesaid.

MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL

ADJUSTING REPRESENTATION IN THE COUNCIL

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1920, the Makara County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:

  1. The present division of the County of Makara into two ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said County shall be divided into four ridings, to be called respectively Makara Riding, Ohariu Riding, Belmont Riding, and Porirua Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The said Makara County Council shall consist of ten members, who shall be elected as follows:

(a) The electors of the Makara Riding, the Ohariu Riding, and the Belmont Riding shall each elect one Councillor;

(b) The electors of the Porirua Riding shall elect seven Councillors.

  1. The alterations hereby made shall take effect on and after the 14th day of July 1956.

SCHEDULE

Makara Riding

All that portion of the County of Makara bounded by and contained within a line commencing at the common boundary between the County of Makara and the City of Wellington at the north-western corner of Section 10, Block III, Port Nicholson Survey District, and following that boundary of the said county and city in a southerly direction generally to its termination at the sea at Cook Strait, thence in a westerly and northerly direction generally by the sea to the northern boundary of Section 99, Block III, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence easterly and southerly generally along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 99 and Sections 76, 79, 104, 54, 58, and 56, and northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of Sections 57, 11, and 10, Block III, Port Nicholson Survey District, to the point of commencement at the common boundary between the said county and city.

Ohariu Riding

All that portion of the County of Makara bounded by and contained within a line commencing at the junction of the southern boundary of Section 111, Block I, Port Nicholson Survey District, and the sea; thence in a northerly direction generally by the sea to junction of the coast with the north-western boundary of Section 109, Block XI, Paekakariki Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern boundary of the said Section 109 and the eastern boundaries of Komangarautawhiri Block, Sections A 1, A 2, A 3, and A 4D, Block I, Belmont Survey District, and Wairere Block, Sections 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and 2E 2 to the southern boundary of the said Section 2E 2 of the Wairere Block, and westerly along that southern boundary to the eastern boundary of Section 38, Block V, Belmont Survey District; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Section 38 and the eastern boundaries of Sections 39, 40, 42, 43, and part 44 to the northern boundary of Section 123; thence in an easterly and southerly direction generally along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 123 to the junction of that boundary with the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 119, Block IV, Belmont Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern boundary of the said Section 119 to its junction with the common boundary between the County of Makara and the Borough of Tawa Flat; thence continuing in a southerly and easterly direction generally along that common boundary to the eastern boundary of the Main Highway No. 923, Block VII, Belmont Survey District. Thence in a southerly direction generally along that eastern boundary of the said Main Highway No. 923 to the junction of the common boundary between the County of Makara and the City of Wellington at Johnsonville; thence westerly and southerly generally along that said common boundary to the northern boundary of Section 10, Block III, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence southerly and westerly generally along the boundary of the Makara Riding to the point of commencement.

Belmont Riding

All that portion of the County of Makara bounded by and contained within a line commencing at the junction of the foreshore of Port Nicholson and the common boundary between the County of Makara and the City of Wellington at Ngauranga; thence in a westerly and northerly direction generally along that common boundary between the said county and city to the junction of that boundary with the southern boundary of Section 8, Paparangi Settlement, Block XII, Belmont Survey District, and the eastern boundary of
