Authorising the Borrowing by the Auckland Electric Power
Board by Way of Hypothecation of Debentures Issued in
Respect of a Loan of £600,000

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the 14th day of September 1955, consent was given to the raising by the Auckland Electric Power Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of a loan of six hundred thousand pounds to be known as General Extension and Improvement Loan No. 2 1955 (hereinafter called the said loan):
And whereas the said local authority, pending the raising of the said loan, is desirous of borrowing the sum of eighty thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum) by hypothecation or mortgage pursuant to section 34 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 of the debentures authorised to be issued in respect of the said loan:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932–33 and section 8 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act 1933, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the said local authority, pending the raising of the said loan, borrowing the said sum or any part thereof by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures to the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand at a rate of interest not exceeding four and a quarter per cent per annum, such interest to be computed on the daily-debtor balances in the accounts of the Corporation, repayable on demand, but so that the term shall not exceed one year, and hereby prescribes that the money borrowed by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures shall, pending the raising of the said loan, be repaid by the annual or half-yearly instalments equivalent to the instalments of principal which would have been repaid if on the first day on which any money is borrowed by such hypothecation or mortgage the whole of the amount hereby authorised to be hypothecated or mortgaged had been raised on the conditions already determined under the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926.

Authorising the Depreciation Fund Commissioners of the
Poverty Bay Electric Power Board to Invest Moneys in
Certain Local-body Securities

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Amendment Act 1927 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the investment in debentures of the Taranaki Harbour Board bearing interest at 4½ per cent of (a) the sum of one thousand pounds (£1,000) in debentures maturing on the 16th day of August 1958, (b) the sum of one thousand pounds (£1,000) in debentures maturing on the 16th day of August 1959, and (c) the sum of five thousand two hundred pounds (£5,200) in debentures maturing on the 16th day of August 1965, the said sums having been received in terms of section 22 of the said Act by the Depreciation Fund Commissioners of the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board.

Authorising the Waitemata Electric Power Board to Invest
Moneys in Certain Local-body Securities

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Amendment Act 1927 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the investment in debentures of (a) the Birkenhead Borough Council, bearing interest at 4½ per cent and maturing on the 1st day of February 1966, of the sum of three thousand four hundred pounds (£3,400), and (b) the Franklin Electric Power Board, bearing interest at 4 per cent and maturing on the 15th day of October 1964, of the sum of two thousand pounds (£2,000), the said sums having been received in terms of section 30 of the said Act by the Waitemata Electric Power Board.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends, as set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Order in Council, dated the 17th day of December 1952 and published in the Gazette on the 15th day of January 1953, at page 18, authorising Cairn George Jensen, of Karamea, Garage and Service-station Proprietor, to erect and use certain electric lines in the County of Buller.
SCHEDULE

At the sixth line of the Schedule thereto, the words “seven other residences” are deleted therefrom, and the words “nine other residences” are substituted therefor.

At the end of the Schedule thereto is hereby added the expression “and the plan marked S.H.D. 383 deposited as aforesaid”.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Orders in Council dated the 14th day of July 1924 and published in the Gazette on the 17th day of the same month, and dated the 7th day of May 1952 and published in the Gazette on the 8th day of the same month at page 762, authorising the Uawa County Council to erect electric lines in portion of the Uawa County.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 15th day of October 1947 and published in the Gazette on the 23rd day of the same month, at page 1705, reapportioning representation on the Taranaki Electric Power Board, and in lieu thereof hereby determines that the number of representatives of each constituent district of the Taranaki Electric Power District on the said Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district.
