Revoking a Proclamation Taking Land for a Recreation Ground in the City of Palmerston North

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 7th day of July 1953 and published in Gazette, 9 July 1953, Vol. II, page 1100, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington as Number 4831, taking land for a recreation ground in the City of Palmerston North, such land being no longer required.

Altering the Boundaries of the Otago Electric Power District

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby alter the boundaries of the Otago Electric Power District so as to include therein the area described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and Maniototo County bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station AA, Mount St. Bathans; thence south-westerly along a straight line in the direction of the geodetic trig. station on the western boundary of Block IX, St. Bathans Survey District, to the left bank of the Dunstan Stream; thence generally south-easterly along that bank to the northern boundary of Block II, St. Bathans Survey District; thence generally easterly, southerly, and westerly along the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of the said Block II to the middle of the Dunstan Stream; thence generally southerly down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Manuherikia River; thence to and south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 224B to its easternmost corner; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Runs 224C, 224T, 224S, 224R, 224Q, 224P, 224O, 224N, and 224M and south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 224M to its easternmost corner; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Block III and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Block IX, both of Blackstone Survey District, to the western corner of Section 11, Block IX aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of the said Section 11 and Section 10 and south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Block XXII to the eastern boundary of Blackstone Survey District; thence south-easterly along a straight line to Trig. Station E, Idaburn Survey District; thence south-easterly along a straight line to the north-western corner of Block VI, Naseby Survey District; thence generally easterly along the northern boundaries of Blocks VI and I, Naseby Survey District, and Block I, Kyeburn Survey District, to the western boundary of Section 5, Block IV, Kyeburn Survey District; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of the said Section 5 and northerly to Trig. Station B; thence south-easterly along a straight line to the south-western corner of Section 33, Block V, Kyeburn Survey District; thence generally easterly along the southern boundary of Section 33 and part Section 15, Block V aforesaid, and its production to the middle of the Kyeburn; thence generally north-easterly up the middle of the Kyeburn and along the north-western boundary of Run 206B to Dansey Pass; thence generally north-westerly and westerly along the boundary of the County of Waitaki as described in Gazette 1954, page 1144, to Mount St. Bathans, the point of commencement. As the said area is more particularly shown edged blue on the plan marked S.H.D. 381 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.

Authorising the Borrowing by the Auckland Transport Board by Way of Hypothecation of Debentures Issued in Respect of a Loan of £2,450,000

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 9th day of January 1956
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the 9th day of January 1956 consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Auckland Transport Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of an amount of three hundred and seventy-five thousand pounds, being the balance of a loan of two million four hundred and fifty thousand pounds known as Modernisation and Development Loan 1951:
And whereas the said local authority, pending the raising of the said amount of three hundred and seventy-five thousand pounds, is desirous of borrowing the sum of one hundred and twenty thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum) by hypothecation or mortgage pursuant to section 34 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 of the debentures authorised to be issued in respect of the said amount of three hundred and seventy-five thousand pounds:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932–33 and section 8 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act 1933, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the said local authority, pending the raising of the said amount of three hundred and seventy-five thousand pounds, borrowing the said sum or any part thereof by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures to the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand at a rate of interest not exceeding four and a quarter per cent per annum, such interest to be computed on the daily-debtor balances in the accounts of the Corporation, repayable on demand, but so that the term shall not exceed one year, and hereby prescribes that the money borrowed by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures shall, pending the raising of the said amount of three hundred and seventy-five thousand pounds, be repaid by the annual or half-yearly instalments equivalent to the instalments of principal which would have been repaid if on the first day on which any money is borrowed by such hypothecation or mortgage the whole of the amount hereby authorised to be hypothecated or mortgaged had been raised on the conditions already determined under the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926.
