Pursuant to the Regulations Act 1936, notice is hereby given of the making of regulations as under:

Designating Main Highway to be State Highway

Pursuant to section 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The main highway described in the Schedule hereto is hereby designated a State highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

DISTRICT ROADS COUNCIL No. 12

Westport-Karamea: All that main highway in the County of Buller and the Borough of Westport declared as the Westport-Karamea Main Highway, as described in Orders in Council dated 9 June 1924,* 23 February 1928†, and 10 April 1933‡.

Dated at Wellington this 12th day of July 1956.

Revoking Designation of State Highway, Revoking Declaration of Main Highway, Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway, and Designating Main Highway to be State Highway

Pursuant to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be designated as State highway.

  2. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.

(2) The Order in Council made on 2 April 1928,* declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be main highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway.

  1. The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. The main highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby designated as State highway.

  3. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
