PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air
Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General
has been pleased to approve the following appointments, pro-
motions, extension of commission, transfers, resignations, and
cancellations of commissions of officers of the Royal New
Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH

Cancellations of Commissions

The commissions of the under-mentioned Acting Pilot
Officers are cancelled, with effect from the dates shown:

Cornelis BAKKER (78104). 27 May 1956.
Terence Michael Patrick DOYLE (75190). 28 May 1956.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH

Resignation of Commission

Special Duties Division

Squadron Leader Malcolm Robert HEAD, D.S.O., D.F.C., B.E.,
B.SC., B.A., PH.D. (70070), resigns his commission, with effect
from 15 October 1955.

MEDICAL BRANCH

Appointment and Promotion

Squadron Leader (temp.) Robert John CROKE, M.B., CH.B.
(72875), is granted a short-service commission in the Medical
Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period of four years, to be
followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.
He is granted the substantive rank of Squadron Leader with
seniority from 1 January 1952. Dated 21 March 1956.

WOMEN’S ROYAL NEW ZEALAND AIR FORCE

REGULAR SECTION

Extension of Commission

Section Officer Irene Margaret WILLIAMS (74757) is granted
an extension of her present commission for a period of one
year, with effect from 18 June 1956.

Promotion

Signals Division

Flying Officer John Harrild KEMPTHORNE (133883) to be
temporary Flight Lieutenant, with effect from 18 October 1955.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH

Appointment

Special Duties Division

Robert Leslie CASSIDY (133835) is granted a commission in
the Administrative and Supply Branch (Special Duties Divi-
sion), Territorial Air Force, for a period of five years with
the rank of Flying Officer and with seniority as from date of
appointment, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of
Air Force Officers. Dated 18 June 1956.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS

Promotions

Flight Lieutenant Henry Keith PATIENCE, A.F.C. (132738),
to be temporary Squadron Leader while attached to Auckland
Grammar School Air Training Corps Unit, with effect from
15 June 1956.

Flight Lieutenant Joseph Walter Pountney WATTS, LL.B.
(130031), to be temporary Squadron Leader, with effect from
1 June 1956.

The under-mentioned Flying Officers to be temporary Flight
Lieutenants while attached to the Air Training Corps, with
effect from the dates shown:

Stuart Ernest FRANKLIN (132590). 1 January 1955.
Robert Donald SALTER, B.A., DIP.ED. (133660). 10 February

Transfers

The under-mentioned Flight Lieutenants are transferred
from the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force, to the
Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four years, with
effect from the dates shown:

Amendment

The entries under the heading “Reserve of Air Force

1955, and with effect from 17 May 1956.
