✨ Highway Declarations and Miscellaneous Notices
Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway
Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:
-
(1) The public highways described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highways.
(2) The Order in Council made on the 8th day of October 1941, declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway.
(3) The Order in Council made on the 20th day of December 1950[, declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway. -
The public highways described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 1
All that public highway declared as the Pamapurua-Oruru Main Highway, as described in Order in Council dated 8 October 1941.
All that public highway declared as the Dargaville-Tikinui Main Highway, as described in the Order in Council dated 20 December 1950†.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No 1
Pamapuria-Taipa: All that portion of main highway in the County of Mangonui commencing at its junction with the Whangarei-Awanui State Highway in Pamapurua Village adjoining Section B 1, S.E.A. 3, Block VII, Takahue Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the Pakaraka-Awanui State Highway adjacent to Allotment 30, Taipa Parish, Block IV, Mangonui Survey District, being a distance of 20 miles 4 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150528 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Dargaville-Tangaihi: All that public highway in the Borough of Dargaville commencing at the junction of Murdoch Street and Mangawhare Road (Dargaville-Ohaeawai via Waipoua Forest Main Highway), Block XV, Kaihu Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction and terminating at the southern boundary of the Borough of Dargaville, being a distance of 57 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150529 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Also all that public highway in the County of Hobson commencing at the southern boundary of the Borough of Dargaville and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction and terminating at Tangaihi Wharf adjacent to Section 33, Block II, Te Kuri Survey District, being a distance of 20 miles 59 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150529 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

ALL that main highway in the County of Waikohu declared as the Te Wera Main Highway, as described in Order in Council dated 2 October 1940.
All that main highway in the Counties of Cook and Waikohu declared as the Patutahi-Rere Main Highway, as described in Order in Council dated 11 March 1935†.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 4
Wharekopae: All that public highway in the County of Cook commencing at its junction with the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa State Highway in Block I, Turanganui Survey District, at the southern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 3177, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction and terminating at the northern boundary of the said County of Cook where the north-western boundary of Section 7, Block X, Waikohu Survey District, intersects the said public highway, being a distance of 15 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150383 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green and marked A–B.
Also all that public highway in the Counties of Cook and Waikohu commencing at aforesaid north-western boundary of Section 7, Block X, Waikohu Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction and terminating at the northern boundary of the County of Cook in Block IX, Waikohu Survey District, being a distance of 4 miles 36 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150383 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green and marked B-C.
Also all that public highway in the County of Waikohu commencing at the boundary of the said county in Block IX, Waikohu Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly, then northerly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Whakatane-Gisborne via Waioeka State Highway opposite the north-western corner of Section 3, Block IX, Motu Survey District, being a distance of 28 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 150383 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green and marked C-D.

Sale of Unclaimed Property
IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands of the police at Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Gisborne, Napier, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Wellington, Greymouth, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin, and Invercargill Stations will, if not claimed before Saturday, 21 July 1956, be sold thereafter by public auction.
Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be obtained from the Assistant Commissioner, Superintendent, or Inspector of Police, in charge of the district.

Revoking Declaration of Main Highways and Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway
Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:
- (1) The public highways described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highways.
(2) The Order in Council made on the 2nd day of October 1940,* declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway.
(3) The Order in Council made on the 11th day of March 1935†, declaring the said highway to be a main highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking the Second Schedule thereto.
Deficiency Payments in Respect of Export Meat
Pursuant to the Meat Export Prices Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the deficiency payments set out in the Schedule hereto may be made to the owners in accordance with that Act for the classes of meat specified in the said Schedule for the week commencing on Monday, the 25th day of June 1956.
SCHEDULE

Chilled beef 1½d. per pound.
Ox and heifer quarter beef 1½d. per pound.
Quarter cow beef ½d. per pound.
