Extending the Time for Forwarding the Reports of Three
Commissions Appointed Under the Underground Water
Act 1953
WHEREAS, by a Warrant dated 14 December 1955 and
published in Gazette, 15 December 1955, No. 77, page
1987, the Minister of Works appointed Frank Felix Reid,
Horace Edwin Fyfe, and Harry Lancelot Hume, all of Wel-
lington, to be a commission in terms of the Underground
Water Act 1953 to inquire into the proposal of the Pukekohe
Borough Council for the constitution of all of the Borough
of Pukekohe and portion of the Franklin County as an
underground-water area and for the constitution of an under-
ground-water authority for the area:
And whereas, by a Warrant dated 7 February 1956 and
published in Gazette, 9 February 1956, No. 7, page 164, the
Minister of Works appointed the aforesaid persons to be a
commission under the aforesaid Act to inquire into the pro-
posals of the Franklin County Council for the constitution of
all of the County of Franklin as an underground-water area
and for the constitution of an underground-water authority
for the area:
And whereas, by a Warrant dated 5 March 1956 and pub-
lished in Gazette, 8 March 1956, No. 13, page 312, the
Minister of Works appointed the aforesaid persons to be a
commission under the aforesaid Act to inquire into the pro-
posals of the Waiuku Borough Council for the constitution of
all of the Borough of Waiuku and portion of the County of
Franklin as an underground-water area and for the consti-
tution of an underground-water authority for the area:
And whereas the commissions were required in each case
to report to the Minister of Works not later than the 31st
day of May 1956:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time within
which the commissions shall report to the Minister of Works:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby declares that
the time at or before which the aforesaid commissions shall
report to him is hereby extended to 31 August 1956.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the
Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that
the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regu-
lations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade
motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned,
but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver's licence, issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder, may authorise him to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of his employment for the employer
described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not
authorise him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to
drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

NOTICE is hereby given—
(a) That companies, firms, organisations, or persons desi-
rous of making comments upon statements sub-
mitted pursuant to Board of Trade Notice No. 120
and upon the evidence given in respect thereof at
the public hearing held by the Board of Trade on
6 and 7 June 1956, may do so by sending a state-
ment in writing (20 copies) addressed to the under-
signed so as to reach him on or before 29 June
1956. Those who send in statements should at the
same time advise whether or not they wish to read
them in public and be examined upon them by
members of the Board.
(b) That if such public hearing is required, the Board of
Trade will hold a sitting in public commencing on
Wednesday, 8th July 1956, at the Board's rooms,
First Government Building, Stout Street,
Wellington, and those persons who have advised
that they wish to read their statements. Such persons
will be subject to examination only by members of
the Board.
