Declaring Lands in North Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts, Vested in the Auckland and Taranaki Education Boards as Sites for Public Schools, to be Vested in Her Majesty the Queen

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time by Proclamation, declare that any school site or part of a school site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in Her Majesty, and thereupon the school site or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in Her Majesty, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date of the Proclamation.

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Auckland Education Board, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Taranaki Education Board, as sites for public schools, shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.

Varying a Proclamation Declaring Parts of New Zealand to be a Tribal District Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 6 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby vary a Proclamation dated 18 November 1947 and published in the Gazette on 8 January 1948, at page 7, declaring parts of New Zealand to be a Tribal District under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, by deleting from the Schedule thereto the description of the Tuwharetoa No. 1 Tribal District, and substituting therefor the description appearing in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

“TUWHARETOA NO 1 TRIBAL DISTRICT

“ALL that area in the South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point in Lake Taupo at the intersection of a line running due south from Te Kahui Point in Block V, Tuhingamata East Survey District, and a straight line between Rangatira Point in Block V, Tauhara Survey District, and Te Rangawha Point in Block III, Tokaanu Survey District; thence proceeding north-westerly along a straight line to Te Tuhi Point in Block VII, Tuhingamata West Survey District; thence north-easterly along a straight line in the direction of the westernmost corner of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 16593, Auckland Registry, in Block III, Tuhingamata West Survey District, to a point due west of Trig. Station X (Orangimaru) in Block I, Tuhingamata East Survey District; thence due east, through the said Trig. Station X, to the middle of the Oruanui–Taupo Road in Block IX, Tatua Survey District; thence north-easterly along a straight line to Trig. Station H (Ngangiho), a straight line to the southernmost corner of Pokuru South No. 1B Block, and along the generally south-eastern boundary of the said Block to the south-western boundary of Tahorakuri No. 5c 5 Block; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the westernmost corner of Tahorakuri No. 5B 3 Block; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that Block and the north-western boundaries of Tahorakuri Nos. 5B 2, 5B 1, 5E 1, part A 1, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to a straight line between the easternmost corner of Te Hukui South Block in Block VI, Tatua Survey District, and the northern corner of Tahorakuri No. 2D Block in Block XI, Tatua Survey District; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned right line to the northern corner of Tahorakuri No. 2D Block and along the eastern boundary of the said block and its production to the middle of the Waikato River; thence down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Torepatutahi Stream; thence up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Paeroa East No. 3A Block; thence
