HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Raglan County Council stopping the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 8 acres and 22 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Crown land and Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 25205, being part Allotment 2, Whangape Parish. Situated in Block V, Rangiriri Survey District, Auckland R.D. (S.O. 36594.)
In the South Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 148862 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was taken.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 30Β·7 perches.
Railway land, being part Rural Section 72. Situated in the City of Christchurch. (S.O. 8966.) In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 14100 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

The Land and Income Tax Payment Order 1956

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:
ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Land and Income Tax Payment Order 1956.
  2. This order applies to land tax and income tax for the year of assessment commencing on the 1st day of April 1956.
  3. Land tax shall be due and payable in one sum on the 17th day of September 1956.
  4. Income tax shall be due and payable in one sum on the 5th day of February 1957.
  5. Land tax and income tax shall be payable at any office of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department, or at any money order post office.

    The Social Security Charge (Companies) Payment Order 1956

    Present:
    HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
    PURSUANT to the Social Security Act 1938, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
    ORDER
  6. This order may be cited as the Social Security Charge (Companies) Payment Order 1956.
  7. This order applies to the charge payable by every company on its chargeable income for the income year that ended with the 31st day of March 1956:
    Provided that clause 3 of this order does not apply to any charge to which regulation 11 (2) of the Social Security Charge Regulations 1952* applies (being charge payable by a company in liquidation on the date of the commencement of the liquidation).
  8. The charge shall be due and payable in one sum on the 5th day of February 1957.
  9. The charge shall be payable at any office of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department, or at any money order post office.

    Revoking a Previous Order in Council and Making Fresh Provisions for Representation on the Opunake Electric Power Board

    ORDER IN COUNCIL
    At the Government House at Wellington this 16th day of May 1956
    Present:
    HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
    PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 21st day of May 1937, and published in the Gazette on the 3rd day of June 1937, re-apportioning representation on the Opunake Electric Power Board, and in lieu thereof hereby determines as follows:
  10. The number of representatives of the constituent districts of the Opunake Electric Power District on the said Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto.
  11. The constituent districts which are mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be a combined district for the purposes of the said Act.
  12. The local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter (P) shall be the principal local authority of the said combined district.
  13. The first election of the representatives of the said combined district shall be held on the date of the next general local body elections.

    Exempting Land in the Canterbury Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925
    H. E. BARROWCLOUGH,
    Administrator of the Government
    PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government hereby exempts the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
    SCHEDULE
    ALL that area of land containing 16 perches, more or less, situated in the Borough of Timaru, being Lot 2, D.P. 13484, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 511, folio 177 (Canterbury Registry).
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government this 15th day of May 1956.
