Termination of Appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Naval Defence Act 1913, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has accepted the resignation of Lieutenant Alan H. Middleton from the Active List of the Royal New Zealand Navy. He will be placed on the Retired List of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 12 May 1956.

Appointments, Promotions, and Extensions of Commissions of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to approve the following appointments, promotions, and extensions of commissions of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH

Promotion

Squadron Leader Cyril Laurence SIEGERT, M.V.O., D.F.C., A.F.C. (70105), to be temporary Wing Commander, with effect from 1 April 1955.

Extensions of Commissions

Flight Lieutenant Mervyn Ryburn BREED, D.F.C. (133718), is granted an extension of his present commission for a period of one year and six months, with effect from 15 July 1955.

The term of service of Flying Officer Ivor Veitch MACKAY (75439) is extended until 14 May 1962 instead of 17 June 1956.

TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH

Promotion

Pilot Officer George Lindsay SMITH (922565) to be Flying Officer, with effect from 25 February 1956.

MEDICAL BRANCH

Appointment

Murray Spencer ROBERTSON, M.B., CH.B. (133994), is granted a commission in the Medical Branch, Territorial Air Force, for a period of five years with the rank of Flying Officer, and with seniority from 17 February 1956, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.

Extension of Commission

Flight Lieutenant Peter Knowles RENSHAW, M.A., M.B., B.CH., M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., M.R.C.P. (133832), is granted an extension of his present commission for a period of one year, with effect from 21 April 1956.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS

Appointment

Victor Gordon ROBERTS (134085) is granted a commission in the General Duties Branch, Reserve of Air Force Officers, for a period of four years with the rank of Flight Lieutenant and with seniority from 26 September 1948. Dated 26 October 1955.

Amendment

The notice in Gazette, 1 March 1956, No. 12, page 269, relating to Flight Lieutenant Eric Paul BRASTED is cancelled. His commission now ends 14 May 1958.
