LANGDALE RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the sea coast in line with the southern
boundary of Section 354, Whareama Block, situated in Block XI,
Castlepoint Survey District, the said point being a point on the
boundary of the Castlepoint County as described in the New
Zealand Gazette 1925, at page 718; thence southerly, westerly and
northerly generally along the boundaries of that county to the
southernmost corner of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered
1175 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at
Wellington, the said corner being a point on the boundary of the
Annadale Riding hereinbefore described; thence south-easterly
generally along the boundary of that riding and the Whakataki
Riding hereinbefore described, to a point on the sea coast in line
with the southern boundary of Section 354 aforesaid, being the
point of commencement.

Prohibited Anchorage Area Established—Veronica Channel,
Opua
DURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of
Marine hereby gives notice that a prohibited anchorage
area for all vessels has been established to protect a high
powered submarine cable laid across the Veronica Channel,
Opua, by the Bay of Islands Electric Power Board.
The limits of the prohibited area are marked by four individual beacons on the shore triangular in shape, and painted
white with the letters “Power Cable” in black thereon. Each
of the beacons shows a fixed red light at night. Bearing and
distance from Opua Wharf light (35° 18·6′ south, 174° 07·3′
east approximately)—
(a) From position 349½°, 2,380 ft. in a 218° direction to the
shore;
(b) From position 016½°, 2,060 ft. in a 228½° direction to the
shore.

Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work near Colac
and not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
DURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928,
the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land
described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to
the Land Act 1948 as from the 30th day of April 1956.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared Crown land:
16 acres 2 roods 7 perches.
Being part Railway land in Gazette 1884, page 839, and
being all Section 41, Block XVIII, Jacob’s River Hundred.
Situated in Wallace County, Southland Land District.

Notice Under Section 30 of the Maori Trustee Act 1953
DURSUANT to section 30 of the Maori Trustee Act 1953,
the Maori Trustee hereby gives notice that a list of
unclaimed moneys dated the 6th day of April 1956, derived
from the Waikato-Maniapoto Maori Land Court District
and held by him, has been filed at the office of the Registrar
of the Maori Land Court at Whangarei, Auckland, Rotorua,
Gisborne, Wanganui, and Wellington, and all sub-offices of the
Department of Maori Affairs, where the same may be
inspected during office hours without payment of fee.

Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Hauraki Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the
date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to
the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated
9 September 1954, and published in the Gazette, 16 September
1954, Volume 55, page 1465.
