Amending Notice Relating to Open Season for Game in Certain Acclimatisation Districts

Pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby amends the notice published in Gazette No. 19 of 28 March 1956, at page 447, as follows:

  1. By deleting from that portion of the notice which relates to the West Coast Acclimatisation District the words “5 May to 3 June incl.” where they appear under the heading “Duration of 1956 Season” and substituting therefor the words “5 May to 4 June incl.”.

  2. By deleting from that portion of the notice which relates to the Westland Acclimatisation District the words “5 May to 3 June incl.” where they appear twice under the heading “Duration of 1956 Season” and substituting therefor in each case the words “5 May to 4 June incl.”.

Boundaries of City of Dunedin, County of Peninsula, and Highcliff and North-east Harbour Ridings of County of Peninsula Defined

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the City of Dunedin, the County of Peninsula, and the Highcliff and North-east Harbour Ridings of the County of Peninsula, the previous boundaries having been altered by an Order in Council dated 28 September 1955, and published in Gazette, 29 September 1955, No. 61, page 1569.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF DUNEDIN

All that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at the easternmost corner of Section 53, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Section 75, Block V aforesaid, to a road; thence easterly along the southern side of that road to and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Section 73, Block V aforesaid, to its southernmost corner; thence due east to a point on the right bank of the Water of the Leith; thence generally northerly up that right bank to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 81, Block V aforesaid; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Section 81 to its northernmost corner; thence easterly to and across the Water of the Leith and the Dunedin-Waitati (via Leith Valley) Main Highway to the westernmost corner of Section 4, Block VIII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that Section 4 to a road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 12, Block VIII aforesaid; thence south-easterly to and north-easterly along the centre of that road forming the south-eastern boundary of Block VIII aforesaid, to the south-western boundary of Section 61, Block VIII aforesaid; thence north-westerly to and north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundary of that Section 61; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 46, and generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 46 to and along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 2, Block VIII aforesaid, and the north-eastern boundary of Section 43, Block VII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to the north-western boundary of Section 369R, Block VII aforesaid; thence south-westerly along that boundary to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 83, North-east Valley Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that Section 83 to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 82, North-east Valley Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and its production to the south-eastern boundary of Section 33, Block IX, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary and south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 36 and 37, Block IX aforesaid, to the easternmost corner of the said Section 37; thence south-westerly along a straight line to Trig. E, Block IX aforesaid, and along a straight line to the southernmost corner of Section 51, Block IX aforesaid, thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of that Section and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 52, Block IX aforesaid, to and across the Dunedin–Port Chalmers Main Highway to the original high-water mark of the Otago Harbour at the easternmost corner of D.P. 931; thence easterly along that original high-water mark, the southern side of the Dunedin–Port Chalmers Main Highway and again the original high-water mark to Trig.
