ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 28th day of March 1956
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 14 of the Rabbits Act 1955 applies, a rabbit district and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Clinton Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE CLINTON RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago and Southland Land Districts and the Counties of Clutha and Southland containing 81,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 2, D.P. 1967, Waipahi Survey District, on the northern bank of the Waipahi River; thence generally easterly and south-easterly along the northern and eastern boundaries of said Lot 2, and generally easterly and north-easterly along the southern and eastern boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 1968, to and across a public road to the southernmost corner of Section 17, Block III, Waipahi Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 17 and 21 and their continuation across the Waitaki–Bluff railway to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 20, Block III, aforesaid; thence easterly to and along that boundary and northerly along the eastern boundary of Sections 20 and 41 to Whiteside Road; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along that road and Old Lake Road to its junction with Ashley Downs Road, Block VII, Pomahaka Survey District; thence south-westerly along a road line intersecting Section 61, Block VII aforesaid, and its production to the Waiwera River; thence westerly and generally south-westerly along the centre of the Waiwera River to the southern boundary of Run 24A, Block IV, Kuriwao Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Blocks IV and V, Kuriwao Survey District, to and along a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 15, Block V aforesaid, to its junction with the Clinton–Wyndham road; thence generally south-westerly along the Clinton–Wyndham road to its junction with a public road in Section 1, Block VII, Kuriwao Survey District; thence north-easterly along the said public road and its production to and across the Waipahi River; thence north-westerly by a straight line to the easternmost corner of Section 13, Block I, Slopedown Survey District; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 13 and 14, Block I aforesaid, to and south-westerly along the western boundaries of Sections 14 and 15, Block I aforesaid, to a public road; thence generally westerly along that road which forms the southern boundaries of Sections 12, 14, 15, and 25, Block II, Slopedown Survey District, to Mimihaau Stream (North Branch); thence generally south-westerly along the Mimihaau Stream to the western boundary of Block IV, Slopedown Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Blocks IV and III, Slopedown Survey District, to and easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 7 and 5, Block III aforesaid; thence northerly along the western, and south-easterly along the northern boundaries of Section 4, Block III aforesaid; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 8 and 11, Block III, and easterly along the northern boundary of the said Block III to the Kaiwera Stream; thence generally north-westerly and north-easterly along the left bank of the Kaiwera Stream to its confluence with the Waipahi River; thence south-easterly along the right bank of the Waipahi River to the point of commencement.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District situated in the Survey Districts of Huangarua, Wainuioru, Mount Adams, and Waipawa, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the mouth of the Waihingaia Stream, situated in Block VII, Mount Adams Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the sea-coast to a point in the middle of the mouth of the Rerewhakaaitu River, at the southern corner of Mount Adams Survey District; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of part Lot 3 as shown on the plan numbered 1125 deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington; thence to and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 17182 deposited as aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 18208 lodged in the Land Registry Office at Wellington; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, the southern and western boundaries of Lot 3, the eastern boundary of Lot 4, and the western boundary of Lot 5 to the northernmost corner of that lot, all as shown on the plan numbered 18208 aforesaid, and along the south-eastern boundary of Ngawakaakupe Block, Part 2b, to the southernmost corner of Section 24, Block XVI, Huangarua Survey District; thence north-easterly along the eastern boundary of Section 24 aforesaid, across Pahaoa Road, along the eastern boundary of Section 23, the abutment of a public road, and the eastern boundary of Section 22, along the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 12 and the south-eastern boundaries of Section 11, all of Block XVI aforesaid, the southern boundary of Lot 5 as shown on the plan numbered 3297 deposited as aforesaid, and the southern and south-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2 as shown on the plan numbered 2583 deposited as aforesaid, to the middle of the Whaitiri Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Pahaoa River, and up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern side of Ngakonui Road; thence northerly generally along the southern and eastern sides of Ngakonui Road as shown on plan numbered 9228 deposited as aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of Wainuioru Block, Part 1A, as shown on the plan numbered 9228 aforesaid; thence northerly generally across the Ngakonui Road, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Wainuioru Block, Part 1A, to the right bank of the Wainuioru River; thence down the right bank of the Wainuioru River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 294, Block X, Wainuioru Survey District; thence easterly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Wainuioru River; thence southerly generally down the middle of that river and north-easterly generally up the middle of the Pahaoa River to its confluence with the Makahika Stream; thence up the middle of the Makahika Stream to the westernmost corner of Section 298, Pahaoa Block; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that section to the northernmost corner of Section 221, Pahaoa Block; thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of that section and easterly along the southern boundary of Section 220, Pahaoa Block, to the northernmost corner of Section 309, Pahaoa Block; thence southerly along the western boundary of that section, across a public road, and along the western boundary of Section 310, Pahaoa Block, to the easternmost corner of part Section 226, Pahaoa Block; thence westerly, southerly, and easterly along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of that section and easterly along the southern boundary of Lot A as shown on the plan numbered 458 deposited as aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of that lot; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of part Section 214, Pahaoa Block, and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Section 169, Pahaoa Block, to the southernmost corner of that section being a point in the middle of the Waihingaia Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to a point in the middle of its mouth, being the point of commencement.
