CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES

Sewerage Loan No. 1 1954, £800,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eight hundred thousand pounds (£800,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing trunk sewers, pumping stations, and rising mains within the drainage district, the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-sixteenths of a penny (5/16d.) in the pound upon the capital ratable value of all ratable property within that part of the Christchurch Drainage District described in Schedule C, and in Schedule B as altered from time to time in terms of section 5 (f) of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act 1922 and section 60 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act 1951, to a resolution of the Board dated the 17th day of April 1923; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

New Brighton Sewerage Loan 1954, £300,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of three hundred thousand pounds (£300,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing reticulation sewers, pumping stations, and rising mains to complete the sewerage of the New Brighton area, the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and thirteen five hundred and twelfths of a penny (113/512d.) in the pound upon the capital ratable value of all ratable property within that part of the Christchurch Drainage District described in Schedule B, as altered from time to time in terms of section 5 (f) of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act 1922 and section 60 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act 1951, to a resolution of the Board dated the 17th day of April 1923; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Sewerage Loan No. 1 1955, £500,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five hundred thousand pounds (£500,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing sewerage reticulation extensions in the nearer residential areas, the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventy-two six hundred and twenty-fifths of a penny (72/625d.) in the pound upon the capital ratable value of all ratable property within that part of the Christchurch Drainage District described in Schedule B, as altered from time to time in terms of section 5 (f) of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act 1922 and section 60 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act 1951, to a resolution of the Board dated the 17th day of April 1923; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Sewerage Loan (Treatment Works) No. 2 1955, £100,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out preliminary work for the new sewage treatment works, the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and eleven thirty-one thousand two hundred and fifteenths of a penny (411/31250d.) in the pound upon the capital ratable value of all ratable property within that part of the Christchurch Drainage District described in Schedule C, and in Schedule B as altered from time to time in terms of section 5 (f) of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act 1922 and section 60 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act 1951, to a resolution of the Board dated the 17th day of April 1923; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Sewer Advances Loan 1955, £50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making advances to property owners to connect with the sewerage system, the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine hundred and eighty-one sixty-two thousand five hundredths of a penny (981/62500d.) in the pound upon the capital ratable value of the whole of the Board’s district as defined in the First Schedule to the Christchurch District Drainage Act 1951; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolutions were passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Christchurch Drainage Board held on the 20th day of March 1956.

HOWICK BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROADING LOAN SECURITY RATE

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Howick Borough Council hereby resolved as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £40,000 authorised to be raised by the Howick Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing and sealing roads and footpaths, the said Howick Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1·06 of a penny in the pound upon the ratable value of all ratable property in the rating district comprising the whole of the Borough of Howick; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”

KAITAIA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Sewerage Loan No. 2 1955 of £40,000 (Issue of £15,000)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Kaitaia Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the said Kaitaia Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of developing and constructing a sewerage disposal scheme within the Borough of Kaitaia, the said Kaitaia Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·52 of one penny in one pound (£1) on all ratable property of the Borough of Kaitaia; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL

RESULT OF POLL—MANGERE EAST COUNTY TOWN

HEREBY give notice that at the poll of ratepayers taken on Saturday, the 24th day of March 1956, under section 40 of the Rating Act 1925, the Counties Amendment Act 1952, and the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953, on a proposal to adopt the system of rating on unimproved value in the Mangere East County Town, the number of votes recorded was as follows:

Pursuant to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I therefore declare the proposal to adopt the system of rating on the unimproved value within the said Mangere East County Town to be carried.
