Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

At the Government House at Wellington this 21st day of March 1956

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngati Koata tribe and other Maoris for the purpose of a burial ground.

Constituting Certain Secondary Urban Fire Districts

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, the local authorities mentioned in the First Schedule hereto requested that certain areas within their districts, as set out in the Second Schedule hereto, be constituted secondary urban fire districts:

And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the Fire Service Council has certified that the appropriate standards for secondary urban fire districts have been complied with in the case of the areas mentioned in the Second Schedule:

And whereas, pursuant to section 15 of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the requests have been referred to the Local Government Commission:

And whereas, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has recommended that action should be taken under the Fire Services Act 1949 to constitute the areas mentioned in the Second Schedule as secondary urban fire districts:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:

(1) That the areas mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto are secondary urban fire districts.

(2) That the secondary urban fire districts, comprising the urban areas mentioned in the Second Schedule, shall in each case bear the name of the urban area comprised therein.


FIRST SCHEDULE

Manukau County Council.

Waimate County Council.

Waipara County Council.

Wallace County Council.

Vincent County Council.


SECOND SCHEDULE

Urban area of Beachlands, Manukau County.

Urban area of St. Andrews, Waimate County.

Urban area of Hawarden, Waipara County.

Urban area of Waikari, Waipara County.

Urban area of Mossburn, Wallace County.

Urban area of Omakau, Vincent County.

Declaring the Wanganui Rabbit District and the Wangaehu Rabbit District to be United to Form the Wanganui Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 6073)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 24th day of March 1956

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, hereby declares the Wanganui Rabbit District which was constituted by Order in Council on the 22nd day of February 1926, and the Wangaehu Rabbit District which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of November 1921, to be united and to form one district having the name of the Wanganui Rabbit District, on and from the 1st day of April 1956; and further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

Member of Sounds Rabbit Board Appointed (Notice No. Ag. 6074)

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Douglas Percy William Harvey

to be a member of the Sounds Rabbit Board, as from the 14th day of March 1956.

PURSUANT to section 24 of the Rabbits Act 1955, the Minister of Agriculture hereby appoints

Colin Ralph Morgan Jones,

being an Inspector appointed under Part III of the said Act, to be a member of the Central Hawke’s Bay, Southern Hawke’s Bay, Akitio, and Pahiatua Rabbit Boards, vice Philip John Lamason, resigned.

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints

The Automobile Association (Wairarapa) Incorporated

to control and manage the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, for recreation purposes.

Appointing the New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board to Control and Manage a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints

The New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board

to control and manage the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as an historic reserve, until the 29th day of July 1961.

Lot 1, D.P. 7646, being part Section 4, Tataraimaka District, situated in Block II, Cape Survey District: Area, 31·3 perches, more or less.

Also Section 44, Tataraimaka District, situated in Block II, Cape Survey District (formerly part subdivision 1 of Section 4, Tataraimaka District): Area, 1 acre 3 roods 20 perches, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 58, folio 197.
