Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 12th day of March 1956.

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the First and Second Schedules hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land for the purposes of the Land Act 1948 as from the 1st day of September 1955, subject as to the land described in the said First Schedule hereto to the fencing covenant contained in Memorandum of Transfer No. 195111, Otago Land Registry, and subject as to the land described in the said Second Schedule hereto to the building-line restriction imposed by Order in Council No. 6365, Otago Land Registry.

Agreement for Grant of Right of Way in Favour of John Wyborn Bradly, of Helensville, Farmer, Over Land in Block II, Kumeu Survey District, Taken for Sand-dune Reclamation, Assented to

Whereas by a Proclamation dated the 17th day of June 1953 and published in Gazette, 25 June 1953, Volume II, page 963, areas of land totalling approximately 4 acres and 7·1 perches, being parts Wharepapa No. 2A Block, part of the said land being part Lot 4, D.P. 11361, situated in Block II, Kumeu Survey District, were taken for sand-dune reclamation:

And whereas John Wyborn Bradly, of Helensville, Farmer, was entitled to receive compensation for his freehold interest in 3 acres 3 roods 28·2 perches of the said area of 4 acres and 7·1 perches.

And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to vest in the said John Wyborn Bradly a piece of Crown land and to grant to him a right of way over parts of the said Wharepapa No. 2A Block and part of the said Lot 4 described in the Schedule hereto, in full satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid:

And whereas the said John Wyborn Bradly has agreed to accept such piece of Crown land and the grant of right of way in full satisfaction of the said compensation:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice, in pursuance of section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Addition to Christchurch Region

Pursuant to section 7 (3) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, public notice is hereby given that the area to be dealt with in the regional planning scheme for Christchurch, as defined in the notice published in the Gazette of 9 June 1955, No. 38, page 928, is altered to include the additional area defined in the First Schedule hereto and accordingly the area now comprised in the region is defined in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA TO BE ADDED TO THE CHRISTCHURCH REGION

ALL that area in Paparua County, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point of the boundary between the Halswell and Paparua Counties, being the easternmost point on the boundary of the Prebbleton Riding of Paparua County as described in Gazette 1953, page 1275, situated in Block II, Halswell Survey District, the said point being also on the south-western boundary of the Christchurch Regional Planning Scheme Area as defined in Gazette 1955, page 928; thence south-westerly and north-westerly generally along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the Prebbleton Riding, aforesaid, to the intersection of Shands Road and Hamptons Road; thence north-westerly to and along the middle lines of Hamptons Road and Dawsons Road, to and northerly generally along the western boundary of the Yaldhurst Riding of Paparua County as described in Gazette 1953, page 1275, to the northern boundary of that county; thence easterly along that county boundary to a point in line with the middle of McArthurs Road (formerly Sinclairs Road), being a point on the boundary of the Christchurch Regional Planning Scheme Area, aforementioned; thence southerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

REDEFINITION OF THE CHRISTCHURCH REGION

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District being:

  1. The whole of the City of Christchurch as described in Gazette 1955, pages 1094 to 1096.

  2. The whole of the Borough of Riccarton as described in Gazette 1932, page 555.

  3. The whole of the County of Waimairi as described in Gazette 1953, page 1991.

  4. The whole of the County of Heathcote as described in Gazette 1955, page 1096.

  5. The whole of the Yaldhurst, Islington, Hornby, Sockburn, and Prebbleton Ridings of Paparua County as described in Gazette 1953, page 1275, together with that part of the Templeton Riding of Paparua County situated to the north-east of a line along the middle of Dawsons and Hamptons Roads.

  6. The whole of the No. 1 Riding of Halswell County as described in Gazette 1955, page 1576, together with that part of the No. 2 Riding of Halswell County situated to the north of a line along the middle of Hoon Hay Valley Road, from Cashmere Road to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 11817, and its production to the eastern side of Worsleys Road.
