CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Burnside Memorial Highway Loan 1955, £101,073

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of one hundred and one thousand and seventy-three pounds (£101,073) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the Christchurch City Council’s share of the cost of reconstructing and widening Burnside Road, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourteen thousand five hundred and fifty-three/one hundred and twenty-five thousandths of a penny (14553/125000d.) in the pound (£0·0004851) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 19th day of December 1955 passed the above resolution.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE AUTHORITY

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work, namely, the formation and construction of the Auckland Harbour Bridge and its approaches, and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited at the office of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority, which is situated on the Fifth Floor, Tasman Building, Anzac Avenue, Auckland, and it is open for public inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary, Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority, Fifth Floor, Tasman Building, Anzac Avenue, Auckland.

SCHEDULE

32 perches, more or less, being situated in the Borough of Northcote, being Allotment 40, Town of Woodside, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 564, folio 163, limited as to parcels, and being situated at 18 Princes Street, Northcote.

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

Preparation of District Scheme

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Eltham Borough Council at its meeting held on the 21st day of December 1955 has resolved to prepare for the Eltham Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked “Eltham District Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s office on or before the 12th day of March 1956.

TUAKAU BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION TO MAKE AND LEVY A SPECIAL RATE

Road Development Loan 1955

RESOLVED, that in pursuance and exercise of its powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, and the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, and regulations thereunder, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, that the Tuakau Borough Council hereby resolves:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on an account of eight thousand two hundred pounds (£8,200) to be known as the Road Development Loan 1955, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Tuakau Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of constructing concrete footpaths, purchasing land, and reconstructing Henderson Avenue and Half Street, the said Tuakau Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one decimal two nought five pence (1·205d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Tuakau; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until it is fully paid off.”

TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Housing Subdivisions Development Loan 1955, £12,700

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the above Council held on the 19th day of December 1955, the following resolution was passed:

“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twelve thousand seven hundred pounds (£12,700) authorized to be raised by the Te Kuiti Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of developing the housing subdivisions situated between the Esplanade, Ngarongo, William, and Tawa Streets, the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and one-sixteenth of a penny (1 1/16d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property within the Borough of Te Kuiti; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years or until the loan is fully paid off.’”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Centennial Park Improvement Loan 1955, £6,000

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the above Council held on the 19th day of December 1955, the following resolution was passed:

“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of six thousand pounds (£6,000) authorized to be raised by the Te Kuiti Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the balance of the cost of erecting a grandstand at Centennial Park, improving the drainage of the Park and levelling the playing fields, the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny (9/16d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property within the Borough of Te Kuiti; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’”
