PURSUANT to section 3 of the Ministry of Works Act 1943, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to accept the resignation of Edgar Ravenswood McKillop, Esquire, of Wellington, Civil Engineer, from the office of Commissioner of Works; and to appoint Frederick Horowhenua Melrose Hanson, Esquire, D.S.O. and Bar, O.B.E., M.M., M.S.I.N.Z., M.N.Z.I.E., of Wellington, Civil Engineer, to be the Commissioner of Works on and from the 1st day of April 1955.

PURSUANT to section 47 of the Judicature Act 1908, the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand has this day appointed Charles Alfred Morgan, Esquire, of Sydney, New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales,
to be a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, Australia, for the purposes of administering and taking of such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Scheme of Control of Morrinsville College
—
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Morrinsville College being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the New Zealand Gazette on 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:
Provided that—
(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “the nearest borough within five miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “the Borough of Morrinsville or of the County of Piako” were substituted therefor;
(b) Clause 8 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the word “Town” was omitted;
(c) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held on a date to be fixed by the South Auckland Education Board, and subsequent elections shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1957” were substituted therefor;
(d) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the word “Borough” was omitted;
(e) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1957;
(f) Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “The Secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.
