PURSUANT to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on and
from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette
the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to
the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori
Affairs Act 1953 (Putauaki Development Scheme)


PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of
Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so
subject by virtue of a notice dated 26 August 1937 and published
in the Gazette, 2 September 1937, Volume III, page 3108.

NOTICE is hereby given that the public inquiry notified to
commence on Tuesday, 6 March 1956, for the purpose
of taking evidence in respect of the tariff items covered by
Board of Trade Notice No. 115, has been postponed, and will
now commence on Tuesday, 15 May 1956, at 10.30 a.m., in
the Board Room, First Floor Departmental Building, Stout
Street, Wellington.

Tauranga


NOTICE is hereby given that on and after Monday, the
9th day of January 1956, a Duties Division Office will be
established at Tauranga in the Public Trust Office Building,
Grey Street.

The area to be served by the office will be the Counties of
Tauranga, Opotiki, Whakatane, Rotorua, and Taupo.

Land Surveyors’ Examination, February 1956—Australia
and New Zealand


IT is hereby notified for general information that the Survey
Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’
Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for
registration as surveyors, commencing at 9 a.m. on Monday,
13 February 1956, at Wellington.

Candidates are notified that their applications, on the
proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later
than Monday, 16 January 1956, and that the examination fee
must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom
application forms and other particulars may be obtained.

Candidates presenting themselves for examination in any
written subject or subjects may present themselves for
examination at any Chief Surveyor’s office, or at Rotorua,
Whangarei, or Hamilton.

Candidates for the oral and practical portion of the
examination must sit in Wellington. Plans for this portion of
the examination, the certificate, and other evidence required
by regulation No. 31 of the Survey Examination Regulations
1953, must be forwarded not later than 5 March 1956.
