Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

The Santoft-Flock House Rural Fire District Order 1955

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Santoft-Flock House Rural Fire District Order 1955.
  2. This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  3. The area specified in the Schedule to this order is hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the Santoft-Flock House Rural Fire District.
  4. The trees and other plants and sand-dune areas in the said area are hereby specified as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted.
  5. The Santoft-Flock House Rural Fire District shall, for the purposes of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, be administered by the Minister of Forests.
  6. The period between the 1st day of October in any year and the 30th day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby specified and declared to be a closed fire season in the said district.

SCHEDULE

AREA INCLUDED IN THE SANTOFT-FLOCK HOUSE RURAL FIRE DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Rangitikei County, containing approximately 21,700 acres, situated in Blocks I, III, IV, V, and VI, Koitiata Survey District, Block XIII, Rangitoto Survey District, Block I, Sandy Survey District, and Block I, Te Kauwai Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north generally by the Koitiata Stream; towards the north-east by Run 17, situated in Block I, Koitiata Survey District, by the southern boundary of the land shown on D.P. R297; thence by a right line to the end of Beamish Road, and by the north-eastern side of Beamish Road; towards the north-west by the northern side of Santoft Road to the eastern side of Duncan Road; towards the north-east by a line bearing 155° 06′ to its intersection with a line bearing 87° 09′ 50″ from the northern side of Hay Road; towards the south-east by the last-mentioned line to its junction with the eastern side of Nottingly Road; towards the north-east by the eastern side of Nottingly Road; towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of Ruamai Road; towards the east by a line bearing 180° to the northern boundary of the land shown on D.P. 6663; towards the north-east generally by the aforesaid northern boundary, by Tawaroa 1A, 1B, 1C 1 Blocks, and by Lot 35 of D.P. 6265; towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of Scotts Ferry Road and by the right bank of the Rangitikei River; and towards the south-west by the aforesaid river bank and the sea coast. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 81/6 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Amending a Licence Authorizing the Taranaki Electric Power Board to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

At the Government House at Wellington this 14th day of December 1955
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby further amends, as set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Order in Council dated the 16th day of July 1923 and published in the Gazette on the 19th day of the same month authorizing the Taranaki Electric Power Board to use water for the purpose of generating electricity, and to use electric lines, as amended by the Order in Council dated the 13th day of November 1933 and published in the Gazette on the 16th day of the same month, at page 2734, and further amended by the Order in Council dated the 17th day of September 1952 and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of the same month, at page 1519.

SCHEDULE

THE figures “68”, “5”, and “2” are deleted from the operative part thereof wherever they occur and the figures “150”, “20”, and “5” are substituted therefor respectively.

Constituting Murupara Secondary Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 21st day of December 1955
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Town Commissioner of the Town District of Murupara requested that the Town District of Murupara be constituted a secondary urban fire district:
And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the Fire Service Council has certified that the appropriate standards for a secondary urban fire district have been complied with in respect of the said area:
And whereas, pursuant to section 15 of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the request has been referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has recommended that action be taken under the Fire Services Act 1949 to constitute the said area a secondary urban fire district:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the Town District of Murupara to be a secondary urban fire district by the name of the Murupara Secondary Urban Fire District.
