TAIERI COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Taieri County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and section 18 of the Counties Amendment Act 1949, to execute a certain public work, namely, the provision of a pleasure ground, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Gordon Road, Mosgiel, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of the said land, should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers, Gordon Road, Mosgiel.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 rood 16 perches.

Being part of Block 1, Deeds Plan 21, being part of Section 2 of 7, situated in Block 1, Otokia District.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan aforesaid deposited in the office of the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers, Gordon Road, Mosgiel, and thereon edged red.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 7th day of November 1955 presented to the said Court by Halvorsen Motors Limited, a duly incorporated private company having its registered office at Wellington, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington on Wednesday, the 15th day of February 1956, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY

NOTICE is hereby given that ‘‘Methven Agencies Limited’’ has changed its name to ‘‘E. R. Sizemore and Company Limited’’, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

MAKERUA DRAINAGE BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

Makerua Drainage Improvement Loan 1955 (£6,790)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Makerua Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing for payment of interest and repayment of principal and other charges on the Makerua Drainage Improvement Loan 1955 (£6,790) authorized to be raised by the Makerua Drainage Board under the provisions of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling, for the purpose of carrying out a scheme of drainage improvement work within a portion of the Makerua Drainage District, the Makerua Drainage Board hereby makes and levies the special differential rates on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Makerua Drainage District:

On lands classified ‘‘A’’: Twopence and two hundred and thirty-six four hundred and eightieths (2²³⁶/₄₈₀d.) of a penny in the pound.

On lands classified ‘‘B’’: One penny and four hundred and seventeen four hundred and eightieths (1⁴¹⁷/₄₈₀d.) of a penny in the pound.

On lands classified ‘‘C’’: One penny and one hundred and eighteen four hundred and eightieths (1¹¹⁸/₄₈₀d.) of a penny in the pound.

and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four (4) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at the regular monthly meeting of the Board held on Thursday, the 8th day of December 1955.

PETONE AND LOWER HUTT GAS BOARD

NOTICE OF SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and the amendments thereof, and the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Amendment Act 1953, and of all other Acts and powers it thereunto enabling, the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Board doth hereby resolve as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000) authorized to be raised by the Board under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and the amendments thereof, and the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Amendment Act 1953, the Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-second of a penny in the pound (1/₂₂d.) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Petone and the City of Lower Hutt; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan or until the loan is fully repaid.’’

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Subscriptions.—The subscription is at the rate of £5 5s. per calendar year, including postage, Payable in Advance.

Single copies of the Gazette as follows:—

For the first 16 pages, 6d., increasing by 6d. for every subsequent 8 pages or part thereof.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for the first insertion, and 6d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand. The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS

Under the Regulations Act 1936 statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing), subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, £1 10s. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and 1939–42 are out of print.)

(3) Serially as issued and annual bound volume, as in (1) and (2) above, on combined subscription basis, £3 3s. per calendar year in advance.

(4) Separate regulations as issued.

The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facilitating the purchase of extra copies.

Orders should be placed with the Government Printer, Publications Branch, Wellington C.1. Separate copies of Regulations may also be purchased from the Printing and Stationery Department, 130 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, or from the Chief Post Offices at Auckland and Dunedin.
