Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

At the Government House at Wellington this 7th day of December 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Authorizing the Borrowing by the Auckland Electric Power Board by Way of Hypothecation of Debentures Issued in Respect of a Loan of £600,000

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 7th day of December 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the 14th day of September 1955, consent was given to the raising by the Auckland Electric Power Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of a loan of six hundred thousand pounds to be known as “General Extension and Improvement Loan No. 2 1955” (hereinafter called the said loan):

And whereas the said local authority, pending the raising of the said loan, is desirous of borrowing the sum of forty thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum) by hypothecation or mortgage, pursuant to section 34 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, of the debentures authorized to be issued in respect of the said loan:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act 1932–33 and section 8 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act 1933, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the said local authority, pending the raising of the said loan, borrowing the said sum or any part thereof by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures to the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand at a rate of interest not exceeding four and a quarter per cent per annum, such interest to be computed on the daily-debtor balances in the accounts of the Corporation, repayable on demand, but so that the term shall not exceed one year, and hereby prescribes that the money borrowed by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures shall, pending the raising of the said loan, be repaid by the annual or half-yearly instalments equivalent to the instalments of principal which would have been repaid if on the first day on which any money is borrowed by such hypothecation or mortgage the whole of the amount hereby authorized to be hypothecated or mortgaged had been raised on the conditions already determined under the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926.

The Returned Services Associations Badge Order 1950, Amendment No. 3

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Military Decorations and Distinctive Badges Act 1918, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Returned Services Associations Badge Order 1950, Amendment No. 3, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Returned Services Associations Badge Order 1950* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. The Second Schedule to the principal order is hereby amended—

(a) By omitting the words “The Oamaru Returned Services’ Association (Incorporated)”:

(b) By inserting, after the words “North Hokianga Returned Services’ Association (Incorporated)” (as inserted by the Returned Services Associations Badge Order 1950, Amendment No. 1), the words “North Otago Returned Services’ Association (Incorporated)”:

(c) By inserting, after the words “Thames Returned Services’ Association (Incorporated)”, the words “The Tokoroa District Returned Services’ Association (Incorporated)”.

Authorizing the Laying Off of a Street Off Karaka Road in the Borough of Tauranga, Subject to a Condition as to the Building Line

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 14th day of December 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Tauranga Borough Council to permit the laying off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for the whole of its length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft. 2 in., subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked P.W.D. 148863 referred to in the said Schedule within a distance of 48 ft. from the centre line of the said street.

SCHEDULE

THAT proposed street in the South Auckland Land District, Borough of Tauranga, containing by admeasurement 25 perches, more or less, being Lot 5, L.T. Plan S.3797, being part Allotment 26, Te Papa Parish.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 148863 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
