Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was taken.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was taken.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 1 rood 0Β·5 perch.

Being railway land in Proclamation 318, and being formerly part Rural Section 4515.

Situated in Block VII, Mairaki Survey District, Rangiora County.

In Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 18574 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

The Wellington City Council Electric Lines Licence 1955

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

LICENCE

  1. This order may be cited as the Wellington City Council Electric Lines Licence 1955.

  2. Subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the Wellington City Council (hereinafter referred to as the licensee) is hereby authorized to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the areas described in the First Schedule hereto.

  3. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

  4. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence:

Provided that the licensee shall not by virtue of this clause be required, except in the normal course of alteration, repair, or maintenance, to reconstruct in conformity with the regulations hereinbefore mentioned any existing electric line or work which conformed to the regulations in force at the time of the construction thereof, and has not become a hazardous line as described in the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

  1. (1) Bulk supply at a normal rated pressure of 11,000 volts shall be received from the State Hydro-electric Department's substations at Khandallah and Central Park, and generating station at Evans Bay, or from such other additional point or points of supply as may be arranged between the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department and the licensee.

(2) The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (d), (f), (i), and (j) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The normal rated pressure of each primary distribution line shall be 11,000 volts or 3,300 volts.

(3) The normal rated pressure of the system of supply described in the said paragraph (i) shall be 550 volts. The system of supply described in the said paragraph (i) shall be used only for electric lines that were erected or used pursuant to any of the licences referred to in the Second Schedule hereto.

(4) The system of supply authorized under the said paragraph (j) shall be a two-wire direct-current system at a pressure normally rated at 550 volts, and not to exceed 660 volts, for supply in connection with the licensee's trackless trolley-omnibus system.

  1. This licence shall continue in force until it is lawfully determined:

Provided that, in so far as it authorizes the use of electric lines leading from the licensee's tramway trolley wires for the supply of electricity to private consumers it shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1960, and, in so far as it authorizes the erection and use of electric lines within the area described in paragraph (e) of the First Schedule hereto, it shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1958.

  1. The Orders in Council specified in the Second Schedule hereto authorizing the licensee to erect and use electric lines within the City of Wellington and parts of the County of Makara are hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREAS OF SUPPLY

(a) That part of the City of Wellington, being the City of Wellington as constituted as at the 31st day of March 1953;

(b) That part of the City of Wellington as now constituted, being part of Sections 5 and 6, Porirua Registration District, and part of Section 8, Harbour Registration District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 70109 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon outlined in red;

(c) That part of the Makara County bounded by a line commencing on the boundary of Section 99, Block II, Port Nicholson Survey District, and following the boundary of the Hutt Valley Electric Power District aforesaid generally in a southerly direction to the point where that boundary line meets the Wellington City Boundary at the southernmost point of the Otari Scenic Reserve; thence following the boundary of the Wellington City generally in a southerly direction to the coast; thence following the coast first in a westerly direction and then in a northerly direction generally to the point of commencement; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 95172 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon outlined in yellow;

(d) That part of the Makara County being those portions of Blocks III and VI, Port Nicholson Survey District, hatched in black on the plan marked S.H.D. 361 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington;

(e) Land and property including wharves, docks, and all other harbour works, whether now in existence or yet to be created or constructed, situated (1) In that area in Port Nicholson adjoining the City of Wellington and enclosed between the boundary of the said city and a straight line drawn between the boundary of the said city as constituted as at the 31st day of March 1953 where it meets the shore of Port Nicholson near Ngaurne, and Point Halswell; or (2) In any other area on the coast line forming the boundary of the City of Wellington;

(f) All areas of reclaimed land adjoining the City of Wellington whether now in existence or yet to be reclaimed: the said areas of supply, save those described in paragraph (d), sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph (e), and paragraph (f) hereof, being more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.H.D. 163A deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington, and thereon outlined in green.
