WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL

SECURITY RATES

Bryndwr Water Supply Loan 1955, of £12,400

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,400, to be known as the Bryndwr Water Supply Loan 1955, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing existing high pressure water supply installations in the Ilam Road State Housing Block, Wairarapa Riding, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·30989d. (pence) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area, which is as follows: Commencing at the corner of Ilam Road and Brookside Terrace, along Brookside Terrace to its junction with Aorangi Road, thence continuing north along the City Boundary to Greers Road, along Greers Road to the Wairarapa Stream, thence south along the Wairarapa Stream to the junction of Aorangi and Ilam Roads to the starting point at Brookside Terrace; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Middleton Water Supply Loan 1955, of £5,700

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,700, to be known as the Middleton Water Supply Loan 1955, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing existing high pressure water supply installations in the Middleton Riding, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·28838d. (pence) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area comprised within the following streets of the Middleton Riding: Tora Street, Auburn Avenue, Arthur Street, Radleigh Avenue, Karaka Street, Karamu Street, and upon the capital rateable value of the following properties in streets in the Middleton Riding where the existing water supply passes such property:

Papanui Water Supply Loan 1955, of £6,900

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £6,900, to be known as the Papanui Water Supply Loan 1955, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing existing high pressure water supply installations in the Papanui Riding, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·26010d. (pence) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area which is as follows: Commencing at the City Boundary in Sawyers Arms Road, along Sawyers Arms Road to Bishops Road, thence south along Bishops Road to its junction with Harewood Road, along Harewood Road to the City Boundary, thence north along the City Boundary to the starting point in Sawyers Arms Road; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above extract is a true and correct copy from the minutes of the ordinary meeting of the Waimairi County Council held on the 20th day of October 1955.

BOROUGH OF HENDERSON

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Henderson Borough Council at its meeting held on the 25th day of October 1955 has resolved to prepare for the Henderson Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked “Henderson District Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s office on or before the 4th day of January 1956.

PAHLATUA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Sewage Disposal Loan 1955, £10,200; State Fire Office Portion, £5,000

THE following resolution was passed by the Pahiatua Borough Council at a meeting held on the 31st day of October 1955:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000 (part of £10,200 loan for disposal of sewage) to be raised from the State Fire and Accident Office by the Pahiatua Borough Council in New Zealand by Special Order under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other Acts it thereunto enabling, for the purpose of constructing an Imhoff tank for sewage disposal the said Pahiatua Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 40/100ths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Pahiatua, comprising the whole of the Borough of Pahiatua, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

GRESHAM TRADING COMPANY LIMITED

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

Notice of Meeting of Creditors Pursuant to Section 234

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of creditors of the above-named company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act 1933 at the offices of Barr, Burgess, and Stewart, A.P.A. Building, Grey Street, Wellington, on Thursday, the 3rd day of November 1955, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, consequent on the company having passed an extraordinary resolution on the 25th day of October 1955 that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up.

At the above meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at this meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company and, in pursuance of section 236, appoint a committee of inspection.

This notice is issued in terms of subsection (7) of section 300 of the Companies Act 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, that the following resolutions were passed on the 25th day of October 1955 by a memorandum signed for the purpose of becoming an entry in the minute book of the company as provided by subsections (1) and (3) of section 300 of the Companies Act 1933.

Resolved as an extraordinary resolution—

“That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up.”

Resolved—

“That Graham William Valentine, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”
